EXPERIENCE
HOUSING SPECIALIST
> Seek permanent and temporary housing for individuals living with HIV or
Aids.
> Maintained regular contact with clients as specified in service plan and
program requirements; monitored clients needs and progress on an ongoing
basis and update service plans regularly
> Maintain company's confidentiality and abide by HIPPA laws.
> Participate in psychiatric supervision, program meetings and in-service
trainings, and clinical reviews
> Advocate for clients and negotiate lease amounts
> Develop relationships with Management companies, Brokers, and Landlords.
> Prepare all necessary paperwork for lease package to include HASA,
Section 8, NYNY
> Conduct mock interview with clients to prepare them for housing
interviews.
> Conduct home visits to clients that have been placed to assure that they
are adjusting to their living environment.
> Conduct weekly workshops to allow clients to get a full understanding of
the program and the program benefits.
> Direct collection of monthly rental fees, and deposits.
> Observe consumers to detect and report unusual behavior.
> Meet with prospective tenants to explain terms of occupancy, and provide
information about local areas.
ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT
> Work in a congregate, supportive housing program for men who are veterans
and living with dual diagnosis.
> Collaborate with counselors to develop counseling programs that address
the needs of consumers
> Determine the need for facility maintenance and repair, and notify
appropriate personnel.
> Provide emergency first aid and summon medical assistance when necessary.
> Enforce rules and regulations to ensure the smooth and orderly operation
of facility.
> Maintain records of sales, rental or usage activity, special permits
issued, maintenance and operating costs, or property availability.
> Prepare detailed budgets and financial reports for properties.
> Coordinate and perform a range of staff as well as operational support
activities for the unit; serve as a liaison with other departments and
operating units in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and
operational problems.
> Provide administrative/secretarial support for the department/division
such as answering telephones, assisting visitors, and resolving and
referring a range of administrative problems and inquiries.
> Operate personal computer to compose and edit correspondence and
memoranda from dictation, verbal direction, and from knowledge of
established department/division policies; prepare, transcribe, compose,
type, edit, and distribute agendas and minutes of meetings.
> Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, appointments, events and
other similar activities for supervisors, which coordinating travel as
well as lodging arrangements.
> Establish, maintain, and update files, databases, records, and other
documents; develop and maintain data, and perform routine analyses and
calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.
> Sort, review, screen and distribute incoming and outgoing mail; prepare,
compose and ensure timely responses to a variety of routine written
inquiries.
