Improve production processes and formulations of Interlux and Awlgrip paint lines for the North
American Yacht sub-business group.
o Reformulated anti-fouling, epoxy primers and alkyd topcoat paints as part of value engineering
or material rationalization projects. Significantly reduced the raw material cost and number of
skus used at the Union site.
o Maintained integrity and accuracy of formulations and processes on MFG Pro database.
Ensured raw materials were ordered correctly and products were in specification.
o Transferred existing formulations, processes and test procedures from global sister production
sites in the US and UK. Trained Union site personnel on new procedure allowing the sister sites
to restructure.
o Improved production and QC processes using Winchart statistical program and process
improvement techniques. Significantly improved the production efficiency and right first time
rate of several product lines.
o Procured, set up and instructed chemists on new and lab equipment (FTIR and Datacolor 600).
New equipment achieved quicker turn around on batch corrections in QC lab
