Achievements, Accomplishments and Key Projects
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
17+ Years in Project Management and Controls Construction
25+ Years in Construction in the field.
CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING
BP (British GAS) LNG Project with Original Budget $186M - Budget Growth
to $400M
As a Consultant I evaluated and identified root problems plaguing the
project in areas of management, planning, executing, monitoring and
controlling, quality assurance, quality control, welding forecasting and
project cultural.
Duke Energy (2000) - Developed a new estimating tool (Excel template
program), which changed the way Dukes estimated most of their projects.
This new template saved Duke Energy $3M per year and has been in use for
nine years.
Safety (1993): Phillips 66 (Houston Chemical Complex) Phillips
redesigned contractor's Safety Audit Sheet. This new audit tool
simplified safety audits by (1) making it easier to fill out; (2)
standardized reporting problem areas; (3) provided a method to tracking
and assuring compliance; (4) and insuring continue continuity is the
audits which reduce lost man-hours and promote safety by increase
proficiency. The savings were "Priceless".
As Client's Site Engineer/Representative promoting a non-adversarial
team environment I was able to institute methods that increased
productivity 25% by changing construction methods and practices.
Phillips 66 Houston Chemical Complex saved over $5M and Zachary
Construction received special recognition for a job well done.
Before Panhandle Eastern purchased Texas Eastern, I was working in the
Department of Codes, Compliances and Standards. I had the opportunity
to study the operation of the department. I suggested to the management
that they remove the Metering and Regulation database from the mainframe
and put it on one of the PCs'. By do this they could save a millions
each year on monthly mainframe expense.
I also created a computer program to identify, store, and distribute
historical hydro-static tests data and was expected to save the company
$4M /year in overhead operating costs.
On Desalting Project in Saudi Arabia (1980-19-85), because of my
experienced and knowledgeable in Pipelining construction, I handled all
the more challenging pipeline projects. Some of the problems I dealt
with included pipe lying off a thousand foot escarpment, having to
making complex tie-ins in the bay at low tide, pigging and testing
activities on a forty year old pipeline, QA/QC management, and liaison
with Aramco.
