application for the position of Director of Enrolment Services for Tabor
College. Although much of my work history has been in human services I
believe my previous work experience will translate very well to perform the
skills necessary to accomplish the duties of this position. I believe that
you will find my resume illustrates the education, formal training, and
practical work experience necessary to make me an excellent candidate for
this position.
My work experience encompasses leadership positions in the senior care
industry at large and small communities in both rural and urban settings.
This experience includes being in executive management positions in this
industry. I have also done consulting work as an Accreditation Surveyor
for an international accreditation agency (CARF & CCAC) that accredits
human service agencies. In this capacity I have consulted with
organizations in 31 states and 2 provinces in Canada to provide
consultation and review of the services they provide, financial practices,
corporate compliance programs, their interaction within the communities
they exist, and their interaction with the stakeholders they provide
services to. At present I am serving as an interim administrator of a
Senior Living Community in Garden City, KS.
In addition to senior care and services my work experience also includes
working in executive management and administrative capacities in human
service organizations where I have been responsible for managing multi-
million dollar budgets and diverse employee populations. In these settings
I held positions related to residential & vocational services, and
coordination of services. Additionally, I have held a monitoring,
licensing, and quality enhancement position with the State of Kansas
Department of Aging and Disability Services as a Health Facility Surveyor
where I worked with Home and Community Based Services Providers. In this
capacity I provided training, consultation, and oversight to human service
providers in the field of disabilities and healthcare. I also worked for a
time as a consultant to Medicaid providers with the Kansas Medical
Assistance Program recruiting those providers throughout Western Kansas for
the program.
I am familiar with and well recognize the benefit of an educations from
an institution like Tabor College. My educational background includes a BS
in Business Administration from Marymount College of Kansas. I have also
completed 18 graduate level semester hours in the areas of Marketing,
Business Administration, Finance, and Information Systems Development from
Fort Hays State University.
In addition to my work experience and education, I believe I would be an
excellent candidate for this position for many reasons. I have a great
deal of experience developing and managing within the constraints of
complex budgets with multiple cost centers. My work experience has
required me to continuously multitask and interact with a variety of
disciplines and stakeholders to meet required outcomes of complex projects.
I also have an established history of community involvement including
being part of the Wichita, Hays, Ellsworth, & Ellis Chambers of Commerce,
Fly Hays Task Force, and running as a candidate for the Kansas House of
Representatives. I believe my communication skills are one of my strongest
assets. My strengths include excellent people skills, budget management,
competent leadership and supervisory skills, proficient computer skills,
the ability to adapt to a variety of situations, sound analytical
expertise, and the resourcefulness to learn new skills in condensed time
periods. All of the positions I have held throughout my career have
required me to have a focus on marketing and promotion which is an aspect I
am very passionate about . I believe this experience will serve me well in
fulfilling the requirements of Director of Enrollment Services while
meeting the enrollment goals of Tabor College.
