To whom it may concern,
Let me first start by thanking you for taking time out of your busy schedule to consider my sincere interest in advancing my
academic pursuits as a member of your institution.
The impetus behind my contacting you today is firmly rooted in my ongoing aspiration to continue the work I began over thr ee
decades ago, in the USSR, and fulfill my desire to impart my widely varied experience in the field of dentistry, dental and general
surgery, human anatomy and pathology to a new generation of young doctors. Although I have found my current position as
Anatomic Pathology Research Associate and Autopsy Supervisor at the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE,
Department of Pathology deeply satisfying my true passion is and has always been academics and research, in particular as it
relates to the field of dentistry and dental surgery.
I received my DDS from the Donetsk School of Medicine, an internationally recognized university, in 1982 and in the intervening
years I have continued to expand my knowledge and gain valuable experience through ongoing further education as well as
continued involvement in medical research. It is this experience which I feel makes me uniquely qualified to contribute on both an
academic as well as practical level as an educator, a researcher and an adviser.
Since arriving in the Salt Lake City more than twen ty years ago it has been my dream to see a d ental school established in the
state of Utah and to be involved in some capacity, be it as a member of faculty or in the field of research. It is with great optimism
that I respectfully ask you to consider me for any academic or research positions you may have available at your institution, both
currently and in the future.
Please see attached my Resume of Qualifications, General Evaluation Report and letters of recommendation. I will be happy to
provide copies of my original USSR diploma as well as any other relevant documentation and certifications upon request.
Thank you again for your time. I look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Best regards
Yefim Lavrentyev DDS, M.S.
