assumed construction methods and loading constraints are incorporated into the works design, calculations,
design briefs along with any peripheries of its relevant design category i.e; if temporary works: 0 - 1 - 2 - 3.
Ensure that the designs and SSoW's are adequately satisfactory for concept, purpose and requirement identifying
all remaining residual risks and design risks, etc.
Ensure that a design check is carried out by a stand-alone third party designer checker if necessary, covering
concept, structural adequacy and compliance within the design brief.
Ensure the designs are made readily available to all relevant parties in good time, taking careful consideration of
foreseeable probable future potential amendments or reviews should any issues arise.
Ensuring first and foremost that all correspondents' are properly registered, documented, recorded and distributed
in good time: design drawings, calculations, RA/MS/RP/CP's, etc. and all other relevant
documentation/information relevant to the final design and execution of task or product from it's conception,
inception, during, completion - and, for temporary works engineered solutions - highly likely, but not always -
the removal/unload.
Ensure that those responsible for on-site supervision receive full details of the design, including any limitations
and guidance notes, etc. and confirmation they feel confident of their task after briefing.
Ensure that risk assessments and guidance notes are prepared and cover all reasonable steps for the safe
installation, maintenance, adaption's, alterations, re-configurations, and dismantle/removal/unload sequences as
well as rescue plan and contingency plan processes and sequences.
Make all necessary checks at appropriate stages as per ITP's/etc. before, during and after construction at every
point of the project ensuring all is correctly documented and yet, heavily informative.
Ensure that appropriate maintenance is carried out to temporary works as per relevant Inspection Test Plans.
After a final erection check and acceptance/handover, issue the permit to load or bring into first use/Acceptance
Certificate (by contractor within Xno. of days from final inspection or as per company policies, procedures, pre-
requisites, etc.).
Once the permanent works have attained adequate strength as per design and calculations & ITP's, etc. from their
formerly temporary state of construction - I would issue or give instruction to issue formal permission to
dismantle the temporary works and specify any relevant sequences, providing all relevant concurred.
Ensure the temporary works are dismantled in accordance with a defined procedure.
