Hargreaves Services is a coal producer, supplier, broker and trader based out of Durham, England. My responsibilities primarily centered
on assisting our steel making customer, SSI. I lead contract negotiations, created quality controls, analyzed the supply chain and looked
for cost reduction measures, built Hargreaves relationships, and initiated asset valuations on potential mining operation acq uisitions.
Was the principle negotiator in a $20.25 million deal for the purchase and acquisition of 150,000 metric tons of me tallurgical
coal originating out of Alabama.
Utilized in depth analysis to show that through supply chain optimization our customer could save upwards of $5 per metric to n
on annual purchases of 100,000 metric tons
Assisted global expansion efforts by identifying and beginning negotiations for purchase by evaluating mine sites underground
operations, total minable reserves, rail loading ability and rates, how comprehensive was their preventative maintenance
program, forecasting the coal qualities future value, management experience, and the overall financial health of the company

Coal Logistics Operator
RWE Trading Americas New York, NY June 2011 – June 2012
RWE Trading Americas is a commodity trading desk in mid-town Manhattan that specializes in physical and financial trading of coal. My
role within RWE was to coordinate the flow of coal globally, as it originated from the Uni ted States. Collaborating with offices in the U.K.,
Germany, and Singapore, and using functional input from our risk and finance departments we assisted in growing PnL through t he
physical movements of energy making bulk commodities.
Acted on market intelligence and captured opportunities for lower freight rates in barge and rail; saved over $150,000 in
freight rates during the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2012
Used collected data points from Gulf Coast operations to determine that volume increases due to moisture gains did not off-set
BTU loses stemming from transit down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers; this lead to the curtailing of Gulf Coast operations
Through careful daily analysis of river conditions barge shipments were able to be scheduled such over $200,000 in barge
demurrage was saved in the first two quarters of 2012
Analyzed, edited, and marked-up all supply chain and service provider contracts, in one instance inserting a clause that was
able to protect against a below specification shipment that saved the company $60,0000
COAL PURCHASING & LOGISTICS ANALYST
SunCoke Energy Knoxville, TN June 2009 – June 2011
SunCoke Energy the largest independent metallurgical coke producer and the third largest metallurgical coal consumer in the U nited
Sates. Through optimizing the supply chain, performing ROI and net -present-value analysis on supply chain options on new plants, and

Managed rail, barge and truck coal shipments and analyzed performance which allowed for implementing preventative
measures prior to the Ohio River shutting down, saving potentially $20 million or more
1
Performed transportation cost analysis on $340 million project and presented the findings to the executive leadership
including that one supply chain option created over $60 million in total savings
Created “Stoplight” scorecard to track and then optimize the overall performance of the different segments of the supply chai n.
The data collected for this chart allowed for an in depth analysis of our relationship with the Norfolk Southern and during r ate
negotiations I was able to effectively show that performance by the railroad was sub -par and to refute their rationale for a large
rate increase creating a savings in excessive of $1 million annually.
