Education:
January 1972, Memorial High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma; College Prep.
June 1976, Oklahoma State Technical College, Olkmulgee, Oklahoma;
Industrial Electronics.
Plus over the years many company and manufacturer sponsored training
courses in such subjects as pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, CNC machine
controls, PLC controls, welding, etc.
Military Service:
January 1972 through January 1975, Active Duty U.S. Army Airborne Heavy
Infantry.
January 1975 through January 1978, Reserve Duty.
Work Experience:
Other then my military experience, all of my jobs have revolved around
design, fabrication, installation, trouble shooting, and repair of all
types of manufacturing and support equipment. I've always been involved
with what was "cutting edge" technology in that field, at that time. My
first job out of the Army, while I was still going to school, was
troubleshooting and repair of audio and video equipment. I designed and
installed 3 sound systems. Two for different churches and one for a
disco/night club. My areas of expertise include CNC machine tools and
control systems, conventional machine tools, high speed printing and
collating equipment, high speed packaging equipment and many types of
manufacturing support equipment. I've done quite a bit of engineering over
the years, both mechanical and electrical. This would include designing
and fabricating modifications to existing equipment to increase performance
and improve reliability. Designing and fabricating equipment such as
precision grinding heads, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrically powered
drill heads, packaging equipment, etc. I'm well versed in mechanics,
bearings, various drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controlled
equipment, PC based CNC controls, etc. I have extensive experience with
servo motors and drives, power supplies, precision spindles, feed screws,
and machine controls of various brands and types. When working with
precision equipment, 0.0001 inch was the normal value I dealt with.
In short, my career has revolved around design, fabrication,
installation, trouble shooting, and repair of precision conventional and
CNC machine tools, high speed printing equipment, and high-speed packaging
equipment, both in the pharmaceutical and food industries.
