While Management involves day to day work and problem solving, it is not just the rational (Task and Processes), it is the
relational leadership side that can pay big dividends. A technical focus and the action nature of management tasks often
make seemingly urgent, but actually unimportant, details our priority in the workplace instead of collaborative
engagement. ‘Best practices’ leadership models stress the need to engage teams in many ways.
Leadership today demands the ability to create alignment, motivation, and co created solutions. Getting the job done
requires respect based competencies and an ‘ask more, tell less’ shift in working with others. Using human needs
psychology as a tool to assure high quality performance and business outcomes pays out in long term sustainable success
and profit. These are the guidelines for my consulting work, which is research backed (primarily Harvard, MIT, Gallup,
and psychological studies).
