for this telecommunication company with $20 million in annual sales and $3 million in taxes.

• Determined reporting requirements in over twenty states and prepared multiple corporate tax

returns for various states going back to the year 2000.

• Developed a system for reconciling the reports from our major tax reporting agent to our reports;

discovered errors in their systems, saving the company over $10,000.

Helly Hansen (US), Inc. Bellevue, WA 2002 – 2006

payable, for this international wholesaler and retailer of sports apparel with annual sales in excess of $16

million. In 2006, the company closed its Bellevue office and moved to Auburn.

• Performed all areas of month-end close, maintained general ledger, bank statements, insurance

policies, prepaid & fixed assets, payroll accounts and state and city sales taxes.

• Trained and supervised accounts payable assistant.

• Communicated with corporate accountants in Norway to reconcile inter-company balances;

managed currency conversions and gains/losses on several foreign currencies.

• Interfaced with auditors including state tax, insurance and public auditors. Worked with Canadian

General Ledger Accountant (1999-2002)

Managed the accounting department including accounts receivable, fixed assets and accounts payable for

this manufacturer and distributor of laboratory supplies to microbiology labs, with annual sales of $12

million and 150 employees.

• Oversaw all areas of month-end close and general ledger account reconciliations including state

sales tax returns, maintained deadlines, interfaced with auditors including state tax, bank and

public auditors. Fixed assets, prepaids, lease and loan accounting. Project management.

• Supervised staff of four professionals in accounts receivable and accounts payable and three

clerical employees.

• Prepared financial statements, including consolidation reports for two separate companies; a

manufacturing and a distribution company. Assisted in opening new distribution centers in

Canada and Great Britain, managed compliance with regulatory agencies. Split the company into

two separate accounting entities, created charts of accounts and financial statements for each

entity.

• Implemented Sarbanes Oxley compliance in preparation for selling the company
