1.2012-2013(B.tech Mini Project):

RF BASED RAILWAY STATION NAME DISPLAY WITH VOICE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This project is designed and developed for helping the passengers traveling in train and bus

especially during night. The people who are not aware of the station on which one should get down

will find this very helpful. Here the station name is displayed and announced simultaneously when

the station is about to reach which can assist both literate and illiterate.

2.2013-2014(B.tech Main Project):

ANALYSIS AND INVESTIGATION OF ADAPTIVE BEAM FORMING ALGORITHMS AND SPECTRUM

SENSING TECHNIQUES FOR COGNITIVE RADIO TECHNOLOGY

The present fixed spectrum assignment policy becomes a bottleneck for more efficient spectrum

utilization, under which a great portion of the licensed spectrum is severely under-utilized. The

available band of spectrum thus needs to be efficiently utilized. The Cognitive Radio Technology was

proposed to solve this issue.

This project is aimed at implementing and comparing various adaptive beam forming algorithms

proposed for Coginitive Radio networks to arrive at a suitable one for a smart antenna. Also,the

various techniques for spectrum sensing are studied and a technique for spectrum sensing (energy

detection) has been analysed and implemented in particular.

ACHEIVEMENTS OF THE PROJECT

1.The project has been published in the β€˜ International Journal for Electronics and Communication

Technology(IJECT)’.

2. The project has been awarded by Tata Consulatancy Services (TCS) as β€˜The Best Project 2014’.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS

ISRO, Bangalore

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is India's national space agency.It brought me

great pride to visit an organization serving the nation since the past 35 years. A 30 minute

video describing the journey, the trials, travails and achievements of ISRO till date and their

future projects and the exhibits of all the satellites from Aryabhatta till the Insat 2C series and

the clean rooms, the testing systems were shown. It was a visit that taught me a little bit

about science, but a lot more about grit, determination, patience and will power of all the

people working with ISRO, the results of whose efforts is reaped by all Indians.

BPL telecoms, Kootupatha, Palakkad

The industrial visit was all about the manufacturing of Telephone modules. We were exposed

to system assembling area, they shared their knowledge on line transmission system, telecom

protection equipment, sigma index and power line carrier system. I was exposed to an

environment which made me to develop my skills in communication field.
