Recruited to this 98-bed children's hospital to accelerate the growth of
the system of care for children in
Southwest Florida and improve P & L performance. Initial foci on raising
$100M to build a new eight-story,
pediatric tower while developing and improving operational indicators for
patient and family safety/quality.
. Wrote the first comprehensive strategic plan for GCHSWF.
. Spoke at over 75 events to educate the community about both pediatrics
in general, about GCHSWF and our future plans, and to define GCHSWF
while raising donated funds.
. Created new, distinctive pediatric scorecards for GCHSWF.
. Recruited 10 new pediatric subspecialists fully initiated the
recruitment of approximately 10 additional subspecialists for 2013.
. Wrote and executed the business plans for centers of clinical
excellence in pediatric neuroscience, pediatric cardiology and child
behavioral services.

pediatric medical and specialty clinics throughout Texas, employing 4,000+
and provides essential coverage for government-sponsored programs and the
Children's Health Insurance Program.

member health plan administering full risk insurance products under the

Lead the operations of this Texas 501(a) physician organization that
included 225 employed primary care physicians and specialists and $110M in
annual gross revenue.
. Partnered with physician President to lead all aspects of planning,
patient care and business operations, group purchasing, compliance and
billing and collections.
. Significantly improved community access to high quality outpatient
care services through the rapid expansion of primary care and
specialty physician practices, both in local and outlying communities.
. Worked intensively to fully develop and set up community-based primary
care clinics that provided high quality services to underserved
families.

Vice President - Professional Services (1/1990 - 12/1996)
Lead all patient care departments in different combinations, including
behavioral services, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, respiratory therapy,
neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, and rehabilitation services, with the
exception of general nursing departments.
. Lead new service planning, development and start-up, and re-
engineering of poorly performing services, development of competent
administrative and patient care leadership, and improvement of
operational and financial performance.
. Drove the implementation of community-based outpatient behavioral and
rehabilitation services.
. Led the comprehensive reprogramming of all cardiology services into a
cardiac center of excellence.
. Directed the development of major management initiatives, including
the hospital's continuous quality improvement planning and preparation
of the hospital for JCAHO survey compliance.
. Developed and implemented extensive facility plans, including cardiac
catheterization, magnetic resonance imaging, intensive care and
inpatient rehabilitation units, behavioral facilities, outpatient
rehabilitation and subspecialty ambulatory clinics.
. Planned a $22M ambulatory building expansion.
. Collaborated with the Physician Network in recruitment of new
subspecialists, development of physician compensation contracts, and
development of regional clinics.
