EMPLOYMENT:
Oct 2013 to present, Diamond Wire Material Corp. Colorado Springs, CO
I am currently employed as an electrical lead in the equipment build department. As electrical lead I am responsible for
leading the initial build process as well as the power up, so ftware integration, equipment debug, and testing of our
equipment. Diamond Wire builds OEM equipment for our customers as well as equipmnet that we use in our own
production processes. As electrical lead I play an important role in improving build processe s and work closely with the
engineering department implementing new design changes.
May 2013 to Oct 2013. Del Monte Corp. Plant 108, Cambria, WI.
I was employed at Del Monte as a PLC Electrician. I worked extensively on the completion of several equipment
modifications including a major project that entailed the conversion of several of their conveyor and equipment drives to
VFD’S and reconfiguring and programming the controls and interlocks for them. It was a labor and time intensive project
with a strict deadline that required completion, startup, and debug before the 24/7 production season began. The project
was completed on time and with minimal startup issues. I provided technical support for the overnight production shift and
collaborated with the day shift PLC electrician on improving the IT infrastructure as well as process improvements during
the production season. I also worked on facility and equipment upgrades that improved downtime and throughput for the
2014 production season and further standardized our PLC platforms.
Feb 2013 to May 2013, Jeavons Enterprises, Loves Park IL.,
I was offered a 90 day contract by Jeavons to provide technical support to a manufacturer in Rockford, IL. The
manufacturer had lost several key people in a short period and needed a lead electrician with PLC experience who could
support their production processes until permanent replacements could be hired. I worked night shift and was on call for
day shift to assist with any issues. In this period I also completed the wiring and documentation of a wire press that had
been about 50% complete and worked with an outside vendor on completion of the PLC program. I completed the 90 day
contract and accepted a new position with Del Monte Corporation.
May 2012 to Feb 2013, International Automotive Components (IAC), Controls Engineer, Belvidere, IL.
IAC is a JIT tier one supplier to the Chrysler Belvidere Plant that supplies finished interior modules in sequence with their
broadcast. My main objective was the integration of a new Machine Execution System (MES) with the existing plant PLC
systems. This involved working with the software and IT engineers to determine the capabilities of the MES system, layout
of the hardware and I/O interface, and decommissioning as much of the PLC control as possible. I also supported the
operations and maintenance departments during production and provided technical assistance to lean manufacturing and
throughput initiatives.
June 2009 to May 2012, Field Service Engineer, Cardinal Automation Group, Spring Green Wisconsin.
I performed setup and debugging of new equipment in house and traveled to various job sites to install new equipment and
also repair and troubleshoot existing equipment for our clients. Much of my work involved prototype and one of a kind
equipment and I worked closely with our engineers in redesign and improving our processes mechanically, elect rically, and
in programming. I also worked with our client's engineering, maintenance, and production staff on trainin g and operations.
Sept 2005 to June 2009, Electronic Controls Supervisor, ArvinMeritor Industries, Belvidere, IL.
Duties included: New equipment installation and redesign and layout of job station improvements for lean
manufacturing initiatives. Troubleshooting and repairing breakdowns of equipment, PLC control programming
and design for all process equipment. Supervised all maintenance personnel across all shifts and provide training
on equipment and processes. ArvinMeritor was a startup facility that was a JIT supplier to the Chrysler Belvidere
Assembly Plant. Initially I was involved in working with our OEM’s getting the equipment up and running and
preparing our plant for the Dodge and Jeep launches. I was responsible for bringing our equipment on line and
within cycle time. Subsequently I was involved in increasing our efficiency and while working with the plant
engineers we were able to reduce our labor costs 25% in the first 2 years of operation. I was also able to keep our
inventory of spare parts to a minimum by fabricating much of our own equipment using our existing raw
materials. This helped make us one of ArvinMeritor’s most profitable plants. I received several awards and
recognition from our plant manager and corporate offices during this time. I left ArvinMeritor and took a position
with Cardinal Automation Group due to the Chrysler bankruptcy and the loss of business wi th them as our sole
customer.
Aug 2004 - Sept 2005 Tooling supervisor, Aerotek, on contract to GM Janesville Assembly plant, Janesville, WI.
Supervised the tool room fabricating repair parts for equipment, new fixtures and prototype tooling. Also
supervised toolmakers in maintenance and troubleshooting of fixtures and related equipment including air and
hydraulic cylinders, clamps, tooling, and ergonomic assist arms. I supervised the installation and setup of tooling
and robotic cells for the next generation of trucks to be built at Janesville Assembly in 2006.
1997-2004, Skilled Trades Supervisor, DaimlerChrysler Corp., Belvidere, Ill.
Direct a composite crew of 15 to 20 skilled trades including millwrights, pipefitters,
electricians, and toolmakers. Organize, develop, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities
as well as plan installation of new equipment. Worked to ward continuous improvement of uptime in plant
production. Working in the auto industry has given me vast experience in job efficiency, lean manufacturing
principles, and industrial technology.
1988-1997 Welder Repairman, DaimlerChrysler Corp., Belvidere, Ill.
Program, troubleshoot, and repair robotic cell equipment including welding, sealing, and material handling
systems. Worked extensively on programming of robots and PLC’s during la unch of new equipment. Also
performed de-bugging and cycle time analysis to achieve optimum efficiency of equipment. I attended several
schools during this period including hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, PLC, and industrial electronics.
1985-1988 Journeyman electrician, Ballard Electric
Install and troubleshoot various industrial electrical systems, including power distribution,
HVAC, motor control, and machine repair applications.
