Hired by Private Equity firm to perform turnaround of this $200MM + global
printer company. Captured significant market share and tripled
profitability. Restructured European and Asia operations. Prepared company
for sale, ultimately to Printronix.
DC 7 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer 2003-2004
Founder, CEO and Chairman of company that was funded to perform mergers,
acquisitions, and represent sales, marketing and support functions for
businesses in the security, storage and services markets. Company was
acquired by a public entity.
WIREDPOCKET Chairman and Chief Executive Officer 2001-2002
Turnaround CEO chartered with taking Wireless Internet Software Company
through "B" round of funding and to position for eventual
acquisition/merger. Efforts focused on Japan and Asia. Successfully merged
company with StreamCast. Raised $3.0 M in funding. Reduced burn rate by

BELL LABS Interim CEO 2000
Interim CEO for a Bell Labs spin out, Lumeta Corporation. Converged two
product lines and merged them. Defined a business plan and received funding
from top tier venture capital firm of $5.0 M. Defined and finalized product
suite. Built both a revenue stream and pipeline. Structured management
team.
CYBERSAFE Senior Vice President & General Manager 1998-99
After merger with Sagus, held responsibility for worldwide sales,
marketing, business development, target M&A companies and security
architects. Built revenue pipeline from 0 to over $50 Million. Implemented
business controls and processes. Doubled revenues and reduced costs by 50%.
Managed integration of Sagus and acquisition of three companies.
SAGUS SECURITY President 1997-98
For this PKI Middleware Solution, was responsible for R&D, Manufacturing,
Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, and Security Architect functions and
P&L for the corporation. Hired team of worldwide security experts in
finance and government. Implemented New Product Introduction techniques.
Successfully merged company with CyberSafe.
CYLINK Senior Vice President 1996
Worldwide responsibility for sales, marketing, customer support and
marketing communications for a network security company. Doubled revenues
in 6 months. Reduced costs by 50%. Signed $50M partnership with Mitsui.
Revamped marketing function. Improved utilization of marcom funds.
ETEC SYSTEMS Executive Vice President 1995-1996
Recruited away from HP to 1.) Increase revenues to greater than $100 M; 2.)
Improve margins to achieve EPS > $1.00; 3.) Improve customer satisfaction
from 40% to 80%. Drove revenues from $60M to $200M for IPO. Improved
product and service gross margins by 50%. Improved customer satisfaction by
60%. Implemented new account management skills. Achieved #1 market share in
each served market worldwide.
HEWLETT PACKARD 1980-1995
National Programs Manager
Architect for Corporate Account Representative Program in U.S. to develop
large account end-user business for PC's, LAN's and printers. Developed
position plan, compensation plan and organization. Grew program from 35
reps and $75M to 9 managers, 50 reps and $600M.
Distribution Business Development Manager
Responsible for defining terms, conditions, contracts, product exhibits,
training programs, business metrics and channel partners. Worldwide
responsibility for channel development for HP UNIX Workstations and
peripherals including disk drives, tape drives, printers and plotters.
Chaired corporate level multi-functional task force. Developed programs
producing $350M in incremental revenues. Developed and implemented
organization to affect these results.
Operations General Manager, Asian Hardcopy Operation
Responsible for product development, business planning, and profit and loss
in Tokyo, Japan. Charter was to develop printers and plotters with the
capability to print/plot in Japanese, Chinese and Korean languages.
Established focal organization for Asian language products. Forged single
business/product strategy for Asia.
Managing Director
Participated in formation of Samsung Hewlett Packard joint venture in
Seoul, Korea. From inception of J.V. was Managing Director of Sales,
Marketing and Support. Responsible for order performance, profitability of
support organization, successful introduction of new products,
indoctrination of J.V. personnel into Hewlett-Packard culture. Grew sales
more than 15 X in three years. Hired, trained and organized Korean staff.
Developed compensation plan that blended traditional Korean system with
commission incentives.
Worldwide Sales Development Manager
Oversaw Hewlett-Packard's Disc Memory Division, responsible for all mass
storage products worldwide. Grew sales from $60M to $150M. Developed
programs for installed base selling. Developed a presence in the OEM market
