Research Experience
Graduate student, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology
Laboratory of Dr. Alessandro Fatatis (Aug 2012 – Jan 2013 & June 2013 – June
2014)
Histochemistry detection of disseminated tumor cells in the skeleton:
Collected and processed different tissues for cryosectioning, tumor cell
detection by fluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry
Performed western blotting assay for analysis of expression, activation and
signaling of different chemokine receptors in cancer cells
CX3CR1 receptor inhibition: Performed Dose-response studies on novel
small-molecule inhibitors of CX3CR1
CXCR4 and Androgen receptor inhibition: Performed cell viability assays to
study the survival of prostate cancer cells treated with antagonists of the
Androgen Receptor or the CXCR4 chemokine receptor, alone or in
combination.
Effect of CX3CR1 inhibitor on CXCR4 receptor: Studied the effect of a
CX3CR1 inhibitor on stimulation of CXCR4 receptors by SDF-1.
Trained and supervised junior students in various laboratory techniques.
Assisted in arranging, ordering and scheduling equipment use.
Laboratory of Dr. Paul Campbell (Jan 2013 – May 2013)
Performed cell proliferation & migration assays, cell culture and western
blotting to study the signaling of the Raf effector pathway downstream of K-
Ras in human pancreatic carcinoma.
METIOP, Mumbai University
Undergraduate Student, Pharmacology Laboratory (2009)
Dissected the rectus abdominus muscle from frog and the ileum from guinea
pig and recorded their contractions/relaxations when subjected to
Acetylcholine and Scopolamine with the help of a force transducer apparatus.
