PROJECT MANAGER
Proven project leader for complex software development programs.
Established and owned Project Management Office (PMO) governance function
at Motorola. Results-oriented project ability in orchestrating high-energy
team relationships in strategy driven organizations. Expert in delivering
time critical, multiple locations, software releases with exceptional
quality to meet customer commitments with full functionality and within
staffing budgets.
. Delivered largest program release to the 3G cellular network in Japan.
Deployed 80 cellular field sites with 5-9's availability for 20 million
subscribers. Customized Primavera feature schedules were coordinated and
based on PMO best practices of customer expectations, scope, effort
estimates, staffing allocations, quality goals, milestones, and composed
into comprehensive project plans. Recorded risks and issues were
maintained in a database during team meetings and issues were resolved
with business development and engineering groups. Program status was
skillfully communicated to key stakeholders using Outlook email, MS
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF reports.
. After one year of dedicated and collaborated efforts of seven project
teams in planning, designing the alignment of the data structures between
Vignette and Oracle ATG (Art Technology Group), integrating the ATG into
the new support portal user experience, migrating over 40,000 My Symbol
Care users to ensure that their access is setup correctly, the last
remaining post release defects were deployed in early December. This new
ATG and Portal experience replaced the global Symbol Support Central to
provide associates, customers and partners with the ability to
automatically download their entitled software. Since the IT August
deployment and the Business go-live in October, thousands of users across
the globe have over 20,000 successful downloads and now can prominently
view Symbol support information that was previously hidden behind
multiple clicks. This project continued the Motorola Solutions effort of
building a global foundation to offer self-service access to support the
Global Enterprise Service Desk and its Enterprise customers and partners.
. Disaster recovery (DR) time lines were used to record planned and actual
times of infrastructure, database, and applications recovery tasks.
Measurements were compared to critical recovery data point and time
objectives for 15 business systems, including transactions to generate
orders, demand to deliver, and invoice to report systems. With over one-
hundred name resources, the June rehearsal DR met the data and time
stakeholder goals for Trilogy business systems. Drove application support
teams to project closure by posting test cases, test results, and lessons
learned.
. Received Motorola "Bravo" award for reducing over 800 independent quality
criteria into a proficient formalized phased common gate process that
improved efficiency.
. Recipient of the first Motorola Global Program Management Organization
"Extra Mile" award for promoting the quality gatekeeper and risk tracker
tools across the company.
