management, manufacturing improvements, retrofit, and construction
projects in hospitality, glass, chemical, electronics, heavy industrial,
process gasses, and nuclear industries. Proven strategic decision maker
and "whole systems" visionary, with ability to successfully solve unique
and complex problems, overcoming major obstacles found in traditional
approaches to industrial manufacturing processes and construction. Strong
knowledge and in-depth working experience in document control, building
codes, Six Sigma Green Belt, OSHA rules and regulations, National Fire
Protection Association codes, and Americans with Disabilities (ADA)
standards and requirements. Evaluator for ISO 9000 and Malcolm Baldrige
National Quality Award. Certified Ergonomist - University of Michigan and
North Carolina Industrial Commission.
Computer Skills: MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint),
MS Project, Primavera P6, SolidWorks, AutoCAD
CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
Production Process Design and Implementation: Developed and implemented
redesign of production systems/process, eliminating operational
deficiencies in the design of industry benchmarked equipment, resulting
in production performance increases from an average of 82% to 96% in the
production process. Implemented process control quality improvements
resulting in an increase from 88% first pass yield to over 96%. Managed
over $28 million in capital projects completing the projects on time and
within budget. Increased equipment reliability from 86% to 100% during 6
months by implementation of newer state of the art components within the
production process. Implemented an Engineering project and design
management system resulting in improved project control and design of
material handling systems that were implemented corporate wide for
GrafTech International.
Manufacturing Production Increase: Selected by management to lead
technical efforts for plant switch from residential glass production to
industrial glass production: Managed materials and supplier conversions
from residential to commercial products, assessed and rebuilt equipment,
buildings, plumbing, piping, etc.; refocused plant personnel; re-
programmed computerized systems and increased manufacturing production
throughput by 100% over a 6 month period for AGC Flat Glass North
America.
CMMS, Maintenance, Operational System Implementation: Restructured entire
CMMS, maintenance, and operational system for a division of Wyndham
Worldwide, a $3B corporation. Instituted a unified predictive /
preventative maintenance utilizing WiFi, computer systems, and new
processes for material suppliers, to record, analyze, and "pre-empt"
failures in mechanical components and security systems. New system
adopted worldwide.
Terrorist Mitigation (for Nuclear Fuel): Took ownership of critical NRC-
mandated nuclear fuel physical security systems upgrade for Nuclear Fuel
Services, Inc., to reduce threat from terrorism. Defined solution,
created detailed plans involving X-ray equipment, physical barriers,
warehouses, shielding, computer systems and other specialized
materials/equipment. At the time, this category of equipment / materials
was being diverted to Persian Gulf - creating 3 year lead time.
Identified alternative equipment/suppliers/materials and delivered
project in 18 months.
Production Process Re-Design; "First of its Kind": Overcame enormous
environmental hazard pertaining to fiberglass production that had eluded
solutions for 40 years: UK mandated recycling was going to halt
production in UK. Developed solution; redesigned equipment, piping,
plumbing, and buildings and recycled waste. Process implemented in UK,
Holland, North & South Carolina. New process was patented leading to new
product offering.
Safety Programs: Developed/implemented employee driven, behavior based,
and accident prevention process. Reduced OSHA recordable injuries 40%,
restricted duties activities 50%, and worker's compensation costs 30%;
processes received highest ratings from Duke Power, Progress Industries,
USAF, and others.
