• Diet preparation: Measured proper food weight for the diets of brown and eagle rays, sea turtles,

hammerhead and sandbar sharks, tropical reef fish, invertebrates, moray eels

• Cleaning: Cleaned exhibition displays and the sea turtles to get rid of excess algae buildup on

carapace shell and flippers

• Quarantine: Conditioned and acclimated juvenile hammerheads and transferred them to exhibit

• Fish preparation: Sorted and measured out mackerel and herring distributed for feeding to all of the

animals in the park

• Animal care and handling: Handled invertebrates (sea cucumbers, starfish, and sea urchins) and

juvenile green sea turtles for interaction and education to the public

• Education: Awareness about conservation and management protection areas of the Hawaiian green

sea turtles and the Hawaiian monk seals

• Surveyed numerous species of fish in the Hawaiian waters (Electric Beach, Shark’s Cove, Hanauma Bay,

Makai Pier, and Waikiki Natatorium) and the Great Barrier Reef

• Studied the role of bioluminescence among different species of invertebrates, octopus, nudibranchs, shrimp,

and moray eels of the reef and how they play a role in the marine ecosystem at night and to the Hawaiian

reefs as part of the Night Reef Walk at Makapu’u

• Studied native and invasive algae species, and conducted coral reef and transects surveys in the area of Oahu,

Hawaii. Results concluded the abundance of red algae was superior to any other algae species
