waterways, solid waste, and recycling.
. Working with the Traffic and Parking Division, directly responsible
for the maintenance of two 1,000+, five story parking garages; over
twenty parking lots and act as chairperson of the Roadway and Traffic
Committee determining policy for all parking facilities on all FAU
campuses.
. Handle departmental plan review process reviewing and commenting on
all University development site plans, landscape plans and associated
construction plans.
. Updated Physical Plant emergency operations (hurricane) manuals and
direct departmental pre-and post hurricane operations.
. Managed 32 employees (changed over time) and assist in preparation of
an approximate $4 million annual operational budget in FY 2013 and
develop smaller capital improvement projects with the Director.
. Manage contracts for specialized grounds maintenance, housekeeping
(janitorial service) and road repair services.
. Handle and maintain work activities and procurement of all
departmental maintenance equipment and supplies in MP2 work order and
inventory control system.
. Manage and monitor all work assignment to crews through the use of MP2
work order and asset management system.
. Manage capital construction and repair projects.

Stormwater, Rights-of-way, Fleet and Solid Waste Maintenance

. Project Manager on all City construction/renovation projects under

. Member of municipal site plan review committee, responsible for
reviewing all plans for major construction in the city.
. Assisted in the preparation and management of a $2.5 million
operational budget and $3 million capital improvement program in FY
2002.
. Responsible for all public works related citizen relations, complaints
and inquiries; contractor relations and negotiations; grant writing;
review developer plans and represent Public Works on the City's
Development Review Committee.
. Assigned and manage crews through the use of Hansen 7 work order and
asset management software.
. Prepared City Commission agenda items (often in Power Point) and made
presentations before the City Commission.
. Represented the City of Miramar in all regional solid waste and
recycling matters, including as a member of the Broward County

. Department head level position responsible for coordinating all new
development in a then fast-paced growing municipality.
. Directed city's development plan review process.
. Responsible for the City's low income housing programs and Community
Development Block Grant Program initiatives.
. Reviewed all new plats and site plans for preparation for Planning and
Zoning Board and City Council approval.
. Field inspected site facilities such as landscaping, parking lot
construction, lighting and sidewalks.

Community Development Coordinator 1975 -1977
City of Deerfield Beach, Florida
. Responsible for the City's Community Development Block Program of
$200,000 per year in federal funds for re-development of blighted
areas.
. Managed projects in the renovation of eastern Deerfield Beach,
including street construction; sewer line installation; park
construction and assisted housing and blighted building demolition.
. First director of the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority, managing a 96
unit HUD project and a $3 million federal grant.
. Member of Broward County Board of County Commission advisory committee
on the distribution of Community Development Block Grant funds (Vice
Chairman in 1977).
