Undergraduate Projects, Wuhan University of Technology 2006-
2007
• Designed and fabricated Hydraulic Auto-Climbing Scaffold including structural design (via Solidworks) and
stress analysis (ANSYS), hydraulic system design, as well as design, programming, testing, and debugging of
Programmable Logic Controller system (SIMATIC S7-200)
• Designed a traffic light auto-control system including interface board design between PIT (Intel 8253), PPI
(Intel 8255) and CUP (Intel 8086), and then programmed and tested the system via Assembly Language
• Designed a 12 speeds transmission mechanism, including structure design, verification of contact fatigue
strength and bending fatigue strength, finite element analysis of gears and shafts, and 3D modeling and
simulation in Solidworks
Research Assistant, Micro/nano system lab, University of Texas at Arlington
2009-Present
• 4+ years hands-on experience in class 100 cleanroom fabrication; Designed multi level masks and Conducted
photolithography, etching (wet, dry and DRIE) and thin film deposition (PVD, CVD and LP/PECVD) to
fabricate SU-8 and silicon micro/nano structures, sensors and MEMS devices
• Conducted finite element method to calculate displacements, strains, and stresses under internal and external
loads. Proficient in structural, thermal and fluidic modeling and analysis (ANSYS, Matlab and etc.)
• Characterization and analysis of micro/nano-scaled structures, thin films and MEMS devices by using
metrology tools, such as AFM, XRD, Optical Microscopy, SEM and etc.
• Investigated natural materials and wetting properties of roughness surfaces, and fabricated various
micro/nanostructures with special functions(self-clean surface, friction-reduced surface, anti-fog surface and
anti-icing surface) by applying existing microfabrication technologies and developing new fabrication
approaches, and simulation, testing and optimization of the fabrication processes
