ACCOMPLISHMENTS
REQUIREMENTS AND FORECAST MANAGEMENT
Planned, directed, and controlled all aspects of managing 350,000 line
items of inventory supporting all Maritime and Aerospace customers within
the Department of Defense. Directly responsible for all phases of
integrated supply management including requirements forecasting and
determination, procurement, material distribution and control, quality
assessment, and inventory. Reduced lead times by 50% and commitment
dollars by over $20M, while increasing availability by over 7%. Developed
an acquisition procedure that enabled the Defense Logistics Agency to
reduce procurement lead times with some of its largest vendors by almost
25%.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Administered $10M+ operating budget as comptroller of the Navy's fourth
largest Supply Center. Managed parts and equipment budget of $50M+ while
serving as supply officer of the USS SARATOGA.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Established and coordinated all policies and requirements overseeing
modifications, repair and maintenance of aircraft, ground support
equipment, and other capital equipment in support of all special operations
forces. Managed the $1.12 billion, 1,075 personnel, government-owned,
contractor-operated special operations support facility.
ORGANIZATION REENGINEERING
Developed and implemented the process to completely reengineer the
organizational structure of the Navy Fleet and Industrial Supply Center,
Jacksonville Florida. The new organization provided an immediate $1M
savings in salary with no loss of productivity.
DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS
Achieved inventory accuracy of 98.9% for 129,000 item inventory. Developed
kitting plan to provide maintenance and production shops with required
material just in time, resulting in reduction of inventory requirements by
16%. Managed receiving and shipping of all Department of Defense material
in the southeastern region of the US.
