Responsible for building automated machine systems and freelance design work in support of
government,
aerospace, automotive, medical, furniture, fuel, and food industries. Prototype projects
include auto limiters for the fuel
industry (to prevent overfills in the ground fuel tanks) and automated assembly machines
(most are PLC controlled).
Designed and built hydraulic heat presses (5 to 100 tons), cut off saws for extrusions, and a
500-ton hydraulic press. Built
checking fixtures for the aerospace industry, machines to test airflow and pressure, circular
saws to cut thru 12” of tool
steel 8’ long, and stamping dies (from simple pierce and blank to complex progressive dies).
Also built machines to
assemble parts and inspect the parts.
Automation Technologies, 1995 – 2000
Foreman
Design and built automated machine systems. Responsible for a team of 15 employees.
Muskegon Automation, 1990 – 1995

Managed a team of 12 employees. Operated machine tools and instruments to produce metal
and plastic gauges, jigs, and
fixtures used in the manufacturing process. Used blueprints or instructions to manufacture
the tool or die. Designed and
built automated machine systems.
