time, and 40 million per year retail system (computer cash registers)
distribution center. Managed all departments within the Distribution
Center which included the following: Customer Service, Shipping, Receiving,
Production, Stockroom, Warehouse and House Keeping.
Interfaced with Marketing and Sales departments on labor cost, production
and distribution lead-times, special packing requirements and carrier
selection for RFQ's.
Interfaced with Project Managers on current and future contract
deliveries, problems with the distribution services and schedule changes.
Implemented Returned Equipment Evaluation department which inspected and
tested all customer owned returns prior to moving to usable inventory
locations. This improved our emergency order turn-around to customers who
had equipment down in the stores. Also increased the Distribution center
revenue by 175k per year.
Implemented charging customers for storage of equipment in the warehouse
for more than 30 days. Provided customers with monthly inventories of
chargeable storage. This increased the Distribution centers revenue by 600k
per year.
Implemented Cycle Count process which improved inventory accuracy from a
low of 83% to an average of 96%. Provided detailed root-cause analysts to
accounting on inventory discrepancies.
Implemented Customer Service department to handle customers who do not pay
for Help-Desk services. This department handles calls from scheduling
changes to taking emergency orders. The Customer Service department greatly
decreased the number of misdirected calls to the Help Desk.
Conducted and managed the annual physical inventory. Worked with accounting
and purchasing on excess and obsolete inventory. Interfaced with outside
auditors on inventory results, discrepancies and the root-cause.
