Hospital Description
Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital is the first and premiere
government training and teaching hospital in the Bicol Region, established

Detailed Job Descriptions
(EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT)
. Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history, and
coordinates with healthcare team team members to assess, plan,
implement and evaluate patient care involving major and minor
pediatric, adult and trauma emergencies
. Performs triage, considering both physical and psychological health
conditions
. Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients under nursing
standards and protocol
. Monitors and records patients vital signs and provides basic bedside
care
. Works directly with physicians, assisting them during physical
examinations, diagnostic testing and treatments
. Prepares and administers prescribed medications, provides intravenous
therapy and reports adverse reactions to medications and treatments
. Performs life saving treatments such as CPR, advanced cardiac life
support and neonatal and pediatric resuscitation
. Prepares patients for emergency surgery
. Acts as Charge Nurse when delegated
. Cleans and bandages wounds, performs clean and sterile dressing
changes and wound assessment
. Cares and maintains life-sustaining and supportive devices such as
central lines, arterial lines and artificial airway
. Facilitates referrals and transports patients to their respective
wards, endorses patients
. Maintains supplies and appropriate medical equipment for patient care
. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage illness/injury
by explaining post-treatment home care needs, diet, nutrition,
exercise, self administration of medications and rehabilitation.

(MEDICAL-SURGICAL WARD)
. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess,
plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
. Provides bedside care to a variety of medical patients, including pre
and post-operative patients
. Prepares, administers and records prescribed medications and reports
adverse reactions to medications or treatments
. Takes appropriate nursing actions in emergency situations and other
situations that compromise client safety
