Position duties and responsibility escalated with each grade increases.
I composed job vacancy announcements for entry level profession and administrative positions and lower grade clerical, technical and law enforcement positions in the competitive Federal service by abstraction a description of work from the position description (PD), interpreting qualification standard to describe minimum qualifications including the kind of experience creditable toward the general and specialized experience required, identifying basis of rating and including other appropriate information such as veterans preferences criteria, how to apply, forms to submit etc. I approve/disapprove use of selection factors by reviewing agency justifications and position descriptions to make final determination to approve or disapprove.
I evaluate applicants employment applications by determining if minimum qualification requirements are met (including substituting education for specialized experience) for placement on standing inquiries and for case basis examing for the grade(s) and occupation for which applied. I verify applicants written experience and education background with the education and experience claimed in the supplemental qualification statements and take the necessary action to lower ratings when claimed is experience is not substantiated by written resume/application.
I adjudicate veterans preference and make determinations on Interagency Career Transisition Assistance Program (ICTAP).
I work with Personnel Staffing Specialist within my office/agency and other Federal agency staff and officials (at a variety of government office/branches) at all level. I work with the USA automated examining systems. I personally prepare extracts from the automated systems to ensure that top quality candidates are referred to Federal agencies and oversee and monitor the certification referral process. I work directly with customer agencies providing advice and ass on public notice, recruitment, automated examining results, hiring option, time frames and a host of other stating issue. In ensure that staffing actions adhere to law and regulations and are consistent with the Merit System Principles.
Responded to written request from applicants appealing their rating determinations by rev reviewing initial decision and any new evidence submitted. Provide in writing, basis for rating determination based on qualification standards and relevant experience required. Respond to telephone and written inquires from congressional offices and applicants requesting information on the application process, superior academic achievement requirements, substitution of education for experience and other employment and staffing issues.
Provide information to walk-in applicants and telephone and email inquires who are interested in obtaining Federal employment. I determine the kind and level of work in which they are interested taking into account possible previous federal employment and status.
I accept applications for current positions for which recruitment action in process. Respond to question on beaming process, forms to submit etc and other employment issues.

Received and answered inquiries and a variety of questions from the public throughout the country through an integrated telephone system pertaining to Federal job information, veterans preference, employment benefits, etc. Provided accurate response and direct callers to the proper sources if located elsewhere. Provided a variety of mailings to callers and job applicants. Maintained updated knowledge through training and discussion with supervisor. I operated and maintained the Federal Employment Information Center and provided live one on service to customers. I operated and maintained and coordinated system update for Federal Employment Information System (FEIS) and Touch Screen Computer System. Worked with an automated personnel system for processing actions. Took appropriate action to insure accurate transmittal and printing of personnel documents.
