Major: Industrial Engineering -Graduated May 2014
EXPERIENCE:
SBM Innovation LLC April 2012- Present
Developed a software application's backend that manages and combines daily student and administrative school's activities. The
software is going to replace two existing programs compiling and facilitating the user understanding and utilization.
Created a database structure in Mongodb in order to expedite the data management.
Designed a MS Access database to optimize scholar buses routes. Simplified data presentation, paper documents were
digitalized and standardized contracts services resulting in an increase of 13% in cost's reliability.
Cooper Vision August 2013- December 2013
Redesigned current layout based in an ARENA simulation of the operation flow of materials and lead times.
According to the simulation and a capacity analysis, additional resource and machine were added reflecting 87.27% of weekly
WIP reduction and a 16.69 % of potential weekly increment in production.
Implemented FIFO policy to establish work sequence.
The proposed layout has a capacity to operate with the 8% of the expected volume increase in 2014 and an additional 7% by
2015 in the current floor space.
Model Factory Undergraduate Research January 2012-May 2012
Worked in a multidisciplinary group developing a production line for fruits snacks.
Developed quality control method to reduce escapes and an inventory track system that reduce waste and damage raw material.
Performed a cost analysis for the development and implementation.
Tabacalera Hoja Boricua (Mayagüez, P.R.) Case Study March 2011 – May 2011
Examined and improved the design of four workstations: weighting, cutting, rolling, and packing.
Improved and standardized the manufacturing process by 47% and reduced risk factors for employees.
Recommended innovations to maximize production by improve noise, illumination, and temperature problems and calculated its
respective cost analysis for implementations.
Model Factory Plant Project (UPRM) August 2011- December 2011
Developed time standards using direct time studies, provided standard times for three operations. Performed work sampling and
developed control charts.
Designed and introduced a method for change over.
Detected and reduced ergonomic risk factors resulting in a down time reduction from 27.78% to 6%..
