Biotechnology Certification
The Biotechnology Certificate Program prepares students for entry into the biomanufacturing industry in
a little under a year, with an emphasis on the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this
emerging field. Students receive hands on instruction designed for individuals at all levels of workplace
experience and education. Students earning the certificate will be qualified for many entry level
positions, and those with prior experience and/or education can use the certificate as a bridge to more
advanced positions.

Bachelor of Science: Biology
The Inter American University B.S. Biology program, prepares students to develop basic understanding
of the organization and the processes of life, from molecules and cells through organs and organ
systems to populations, species, ecosystems, and evolution. The major offers the mathematical,
chemical, and physical background necessary for understanding biology and the practical scientific
skills associated with each of these areas. It allows students to begin to specialize in a sub discipline of
biology such as animal physiology, cell biology, ecology, marine biology, microbiology, molecular
biology, zoology, and so forth. Any curriculum may be modified to fit individual aims with the approval of
the biology faculty. It is strongly advised that the student electing to major in the biological sciences
