Technical Experience:
Software & Network Engineer - KLR Technologies, Inc. (May 2013 to
present
Software at KLR:I was responsible for the development of software supporting bank
savings accounts which calculated a running total while performing deposits,
withdrawals, and interest calculations. It then calculated cumulative averages. In
addition, I developed the graphical user interface for a retail cash register system.
I also gained familiarization with data structures: stacks, queues, arrays, and linked
lists, as well as various sorting methods such as bubble, sequential, insertion, selection,
binary, loops and recursion.
All programs were developed using the Eclipse IDE and the Eclipse package build
system.
In addition, I worked with JFrame, Abstract Windowing Toolkit, and Swing for GUI
development as well as the java SQL library to create SQL database interface
applications.
Networks at KLR: I was responsible for the configuration of an office network
employing a Cisco 1841 integrated services router supporting thirteen computers on
three subnets. The network also employed a Cisco 1800 Series Router, and a Cisco
Catalyst 2960 Series switch. In addition, I have also configured two Cisco 2500 Series
Routers in my personal lab.
In network construction and troubleshooting, I determined the scope of problems,
organized and terminated cables in keystone jacks, and checked network media using
tone generators and cable testers.
Java Instructor - Atlantic Cape Community College (January to May 2013)
Instructed students in Java concepts such as object oriented programming, data
structures, and sorting algorithms. Reviewed and corrected example programs to
assist students in writing applications, proofread them for syntax, and debugged
them.
Intern - Upper Township Schools (March - April 2014, Network experience)
On a Meraki wireless network, I monitored and shaped traffic, administered website
blocking, and remotely configured access point settings from a central console.
Operated a daily backup system using network-attached storage.
Maintained a "golden triangle" combining Windows Active Directory and Apple Open
Directory for Apple devices on a network with a Windows server. Used Munki install
manager and Deploy Studio to distribute system images and a pre-determined list of
applications, and Workgroup Manager to automate permissions and association.
Helped administer a beta site for the PARCC computerized standardized test, and
reconfigured nearby access points in order to deal with the high volume of network
traffic.
Education:
ACCC: individual courses in Java programming and completed Computer
Technical Solutions Series for A+, Network+ and MCSA Windows 7 Configuration
and Enterprise. These count toward an Associate’s Degree in Computer System
Support, in progress.
The College of New Jersey: Bachelor of Arts in History, minor in English, 2010.
Ocean City High School: Ocean City, NJ, 2002-2006.
Interests:
I developed Secyourbook.com, an experimental social network which was used
as a prototype for a potential internal information system at the FAA.
