PROFILE
A dynamic and competent professional with over 7 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
An Infrastructure architect in designing, performance tuning, supporting VLDB’s in highly transactional
environment and setting up HA/DR solutions as per business requirements.
Demonstrated excellence in understanding the application requirements while ensuring that the new database
developed meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performance standards.
Expert in configuring and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery concepts like AlwaysOn,
clustering, database mirroring, log shipping and replication.
An effective communicator with honed interpersonal, team player, problem solving and self-motivated skills.
Key Strength Areas:
SQL Server Performance Database Database T-SQL & SQL
2005/2008 Tuning & Creation, Mirroring, Server BI Suite
R2/2012 Capacity Installation & Clustering, (SSIS / SSRS /
Administration Planning Maintenance Replication SSAS)
NOTEWORTHY PROJECTS
Database Schema Standardization:
Designed and implemented process to standardize schema for all OLTP databases to improve overall performance
and stability.
Part of process was to define proper data types per business requirement, enforce constraints and define proper
indices based on index usage reports.
Storage Savings:
Identified key areas which needed immediate attention to improve performance of the OLTP applications; SAN
was one of the main areas.
We were able to reclaim 4 TB on SAN and save about $250K on SAN maintenance by retiring log-shipping and
deleting unused databases.
Reduced Maintenance Window:
Educated other team members and implemented partial replication, this reduced downtime window by 3 hours
and increased application availability by 60%.
Application Migration:
Successfully migrated and consolidated 120+ Wachovia applications to Wells Fargo domain which included
migrating databases, upgrading DTS packages to SSIS, moving logins/users and sql server agent jobs.
