I worked in ten countries in Southern Africa developing self-reliance projects for people with disabilities.
Managed contracts and ensured that sub-contractors completed their projects in a timely manner as per
terms of reference. Developed sub-contractor budgets and negotiated with them on different aspects of
contracts. Worked with donors like UNICEF, USAID, PLAN International, OXFAM AMERICA who funded
some of our development projects. Managed HIV/AIDS projects, testing centers and promoted HIV/AIDS
awareness to people with disabilities. Wrote all program reports, prepared income statements, balance
sheets, cash flow statements and did bank reconciliations Planned all evaluation activities, recruited staff
and was responsible for project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation. I conducted training and
development, capacity building for all projects in the region. I worked with a team to develop budget control
measures and accountability standards
Accomplishments: raised and managed a 2.5 million British pounds sterling (US$ 6.3 million), developed 105
new projects, helped 175 existing services for people with disabilities by providing training, increasing efficiency
and effectiveness, helped develop a five year strategic plan, produced a fundraising video with BBC and
presented papers at numerous international conferences. I managed 269 staff and 157 volunteers. Created
and implemented comprehensive needs assessment mechanism to help forecast demand for services and
staffing. Formulated HIV/AIDS policies with different African governments in the countries l worked.

awareness and prevention. Developed videos for HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. Supervised 15 staff and
135 peer educators throughout the province. Wrote all progress reports and managed departmental budget.

reading materials, curriculum for schools and planned its distribution
Accomplishments: Developed 35 support groups of people living with AIDS, started 15 testing centers,

fliers and posters for AIDS awareness. Interviewed 50 times on radio and TV on HIV/AIDS related issues. I
started the first support group in Africa for former commercial sex workers (prostitutes) and got funding from
UNICEF.
