Objective: I am interested in educating a new generation of nurses, along with like-minded colleagues, to have their interest and heartfelt desire to make the patient, their health and safety the priority. The focus must return to the respect and care of the individual in a holistic and non-judgmental manner. Patient and Nurse Advocacy must again be of paramount importance. Nursing education must insist on nurses being able to use critical thinking skills and display and adopt a professional demeanor that commands respect by physicians, their colleagues and patients alike.

Apart from teaching, I remain dedicated to my patients and colleagues alike. We all work hard and need positive reinforcement. There is far too much negativity about. A smile, a hug can only bolster each other and our patients and families. Whether I need to be a cheerleader, an educator, a listener is not important. What is important is that I remain, as always, to be whatever my patients need me to be to assist them.
