Dear Hiring Manager:
I am contacting you today to express my interest in the advertised
position. I believe my background will add significant value to your
organization. My resume is attached for your review.
My position with my last company, All America Threaded Products, was
eliminated recently due to cost downsizing and planned plant closure action
after several years of declining sales performance. In my prior role, I
managed all site manufacturing and distribution operations. I did not have
responsibility for sales revenue. As such I am now searching for a new
opportunity on a national scale. My personal situation is extremely
flexible and affords me the ability to relocate immediately and if
necessary, at my own expense.
I have spent the better part of my career in the metals, custom
electromechanical designed equipment, subassembly and precision threaded
component industries. I have worked closely with Global Customers
understanding their needs and developing appropriate technology and cost
effective solutions. My professional background is broad having
Engineering, Operations, New Product and Business Development and Sales
responsibilities; as well as significant "hands on" plant floor Leadership
skills. I have a strong 10 year background in managerial accounting, profit
and loss management, annual and strategic planning and budgeting, overhead
allocation, labor and cost controls and market and transfer pricing.
Lastly, I am an experienced Microsoft Office user particularly with Word,
Excel and PowerPoint.
I have led both large and small, high and low mix and volume union and non-
union organizations, through difficult but successful financial and
operational improvement efforts. Additionally, I was trained in Lean and
Value Analysis methodologies by Maytag; facilitated by TBM Consulting
Group, the recognized global leader in Lean training.
I am very interested in the advertised position. Once you have had the
opportunity to review my resume, I look forward to speaking with you. If
you have questions, please call me at 260-***-****. I look forward to
hearing from you soon.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Charles Kingdon
