PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Corporate Planning Manager EMI, Inc. Santa Ana, CA May 2008 to April 2014
In charge of all MRP input and output for our TURNKEY electronics customers, with net material requirements, as well as identifying
any excess and slow moving inventory. Established an EXCESS reduction program in my first year there, reducing over 1 million
dollars of components by identifying and invoicing back to the perspective customer at full value. Reviewed all customer forecasts,
contracts, and approved each turnkey customer purchase order. Created and maintained a master schedule for our largest EMI
customer. Established a monthly liability report by customer for internal and external distribution, as well as a monthly executive
summary chart for EMI management. Created and maintained a weekly report on the state of the union on our turnkey customer’s
current business with weekly meetings informing EMI management.
Commodity Manager, Purchasing Gateway Computers, Irvine, CA March 2007 to February 2008
Received a company forecast for third party consumer products and placed the orders with the multiple different vendors such as
keyboards, monitors, leather notebook bags, notebook power adapters, notebook batteries, etc. Within the first year, I created and
implemented our own forecast for third party notebook accessories based on monthly past history and current daily bookings.
Reducing our inventory and excess by 30% based on carrying lower inventory, per lead time with weekly releases instead of monthly
and quarterly. Improved OTD from 51% to 94% within a 3 month period for notebook accessories, with a value of $10 million in
monthly sales.
Production Control Manager Tri Star Electronics, El Segundo, CA July 2006 to February 2007
Managed 6 production and inventory control planners for manufacture of medical device manufacturing industry, wire/cabling
manufacturing, wire processors, fiber optics, aircraft, aerospace, electronics, automotive and other emerging markets. Reduced
material and production lead times from 26 weeks (special metal purchased from Switzerland for the different required contacts) to 8
weeks process time, by creating a forecast for our largest customer ITT Cannon in Santa Ana. In order to ensure smooth forecast data
to production shipments, I was stationed at both ITT and TRI STAR for a 4 month period, improving our process and communication
issues, especially with new products between our two companies. During this time, OTD increase from 62% to over 90% due to the
daily interface and communications.
Master Scheduling Manager Robert Manufacturing, Rancho Cucamonga April 2004 to June 2006
Managed all material purchases to purchasing based on our weekly homegrown MRP. This company made home plumbing parts since
1936 (under the family owned business of father and now son) for houses and business use from the nylon hoses, to stainless steel
hoses to copper hoses, as well as copper fittings and stainless steel fittings at both this facility and our Mexico facility. We had over
6,000 unique finished good SKU’s due to style and lengths within our inventory shelves.
Scheduling Manager Securitas, Temecula, CA Jan 2002 to March 2004
Managed 45 part time guards, overseeing the MWD (Metropolitan Water District) land, waterways and three dams. Patrolled each
evening and checking on my respective 15 guards per shift, stationed from Lake Skinner, to Diamond Valley Lake to Perris Dam and
reported any issues or concerns back to MWD. In addition, I had to make sure that each shift had the proper manpower and coverage
to protect our locations from any damage or sabotage. Since this was just after 9/11.
Senior New Product Introduction Manager Powerwave Technologies, Irvine, CA July 2000 to July 2001
Managed 3 New Product Introduction Planners and 1 warehouse clerk within the manufacturing site. My team directly engaged with
engineering on all new buys for material for all NEW PRODUCTS being developed. Our team purchased the parts and planned the
parts being used on each PROJECT MANAGERs list. Oversaw all aspects of $3.1 million dollar engineering stockroom and inventory.
Reduced excess engineering inventory by 30% and achieved 50% faster kit pulls. Enhanced inventory accuracy from 70% to 95% in
NPI warehouse.
Senior Planning & Forecasting Manager Toshiba Computer Division, Irvine, CA Oct 1998 to June 2000
Managed all of Toshiba Notebooks third party purchases, using the forecast and backlog to advise purchasing on what to buy. Prior to
me taking over, we had excess of over 2 million dollars and no demand. This was slowly worked down by highlighting the issue to the
sales force, changing the sales compensation on selling accessories and producing a weekly sales ATP for accessories (available to
promise) for the sales team to concentrate on. Sales now knew what they could sell and had real lead times on accessory deliveries
(since these had a 45 point profit margin). Planned and forecasted $120 million dollars a year notebook accessory business. Hand
selected by Toshiba Management to turn around under achieving marketing department.
Senior Director of Master Scheduling AST Computers, Irvine, CA July 1987 to October 1998
Managed the loading for 4 factories on 4 different continents with 4 master schedulers and 5 financial sales analysts for international
reporting structure for the 18 international distribution sites we had within the world. Loaded the 4 factories based on the requirements
from our worldwide sales forecasts compilation and backlog. Prepared annual plans and forecasts supporting $150 million dollars in
annual sales in 1987 to 2.2 billion dollars in annual sales in 1997. Reduced our forecasting and SOP cycle time from 3 weeks to just 7
working days. Developed and led excess and obsolete task force for non selling products (E&O / SMI). Cut notebook accessories
inventory 57% from $23 million to $10 million in 6 month period. Part of task force that established a factory in Ireland, and oversaw
supply chain management in Europe based in Limerick and London for one year.
Senior Manufacturing & Operations Manager Cubix Corporation, Carson City, NV March 1982 to June 1987
Managed multiple departments consisting of Production Control (staff of 3), Production Assembly (staff of 30 within board
assemblies and 30 within mechanical assembly), Metal Fabrication Production (staff of 15 within sheet metal shop, plastic injection
molding and powder paint shop), Warehouse (staff of 5), and Receiving/Shipping (staff of 3).
Production & Inventory Control, Manager General Automation, Anaheim, CA Jan 1975 to March 1982
Managed 4 expeditors, 3 production control planners and 3 material control planners for loading the manufacturing floor with work
for building PCB assemblies, cable assemblies and mechanical assemblies using MRP system, Software International. Using canned
and manual reports, we were able to plan the material required, build the assemblies needed and ship out the computer systems on
time to our customers, around the world.
