I read with interest your recently posted position in Social Media Sales. I believe I am an ideal candidate to join the Public Reputation team, as building and maintaining relationships is what I enjoy most. I have demonstrated this through my ability to network internationally, as well as through my multiple roles in social media management and sales. I have phone sales experience with two companies in very different industries and have recently moved into a key sales role at my current employer.
My first sales experience was with Northwestern Mutual in a top ten-ranked internship program. After passing both my Series 16-51 Producers Exam for Life Insurance and Series 16-52 Producers Exam for Accident and Health or Sickness, I worked as a Financial Representative. Daily phoning was one of the essential tasks I completed to set appointments with prospects. In these appointments, I completed fact finders with prospects, identifying their financial goals and objectives and then propose appropriate solutions. Some key takeaways from this experience were setting and achieving weekly goals, particularly in phoning and appointments.
My second sales experience came from Meltwater Buzz where I worked in their Hong Kong office as a Social Media Consultant. In this role I cold called businesses, small and large, to set appointments with key decision makers. In these meetings I demonstrated how the Meltwater Buzz platform could help identify key online influencers in the prospects industry, identify the best areas within the digital marketplace for consumers to engage with customers, and what was currently being said about their business online. During my time at Meltwater Buzz I sold and negotiated the first ever Meltwater Connect Contract to Elle Magazine Asia, so they could monitor and track their online footprint (as well as their competitor’s) and create social media campaigns.
In my current full-time role at Bakery On Main, I not only manage our social media but also am tasked with building and maintaining relationships with our sales team, outside sales brokers, brand ambassadors, suppliers, web developers and event managers. I am able to balance these duties as well as create blogger relationships to further develop the Bakery On Main brand. My ability to perform in this role has opened numerous doors for me, including a recent addition to my role in which my main focus is creating relationships and communicating with key independent grocery accounts. These accounts are smaller, natural grocery stores with limited and competitive shelf space. To be successful in obtaining coverage and distribution of core items in these stores, brands often need to have someone from corporate continuously communicate and conduct store visits to develop relationships with the store grocery buyer. My demonstration of product knowledge and ability to engage with both store personnel and consumers at trade shows and gluten free events key contributors in leading the management team to offer me the position.
