I'm a former Oracle DBA looking to make a career change to help desk

receptionist. I'm looking for an employer to give me long term employment,

. Experience in a very fast paced environment administrating, supporting

and maintaining multiple production and development Oracle databases.

. Performed numerous Oracle 10g to 11g software installs, upgrades,

patching and database builds.

. Responsible for addressing security vulnerability fixes by applying

CPU and PSU patches in all development and production databases

environments. Created a shell script that reports to DBA group Oracle

databases that are missing patches, both one-offs, CPUs, and/or PSUs

(based on a list of deemed necessary patches).

. Proficient and very comfortable in command line interface usage (i.e.

SQLPlus, UNIX etc.)

. Monitored and maintained databases using tools like TOAD, SQL

Developer, OEM and SQL Navigator.

. Promoted and implemented on a weekly basis database changes received

from the development organization to pre-production and production

environments. Typical changes involved the creation and updates of

tables, columns, indexes, views, synonyms, function and procedures.

Also, I ensured that changes were authorized by management; changes

followed the standard development/pre-production/production life

Ensured the nightly RMAN and DataPump backups ran successfully;

refreshed and cloned schemas and databases in development at

application owners' request.

. Experienced in administrating 3-node RAC (Real Application Cluster)

database and Physical Standby database according to established

procedures and guidelines put in place by Sr. DBA members.

. Implemented and maintained Tablespace quotas, users and roles;

assigned system and object privileges that are fully compliant with

the business rules of the company.

. Performed database tuning and performance monitoring using AWR and

ADDM.

. Used OEM to Monitor and Plan for growth (capacity planning), created

new Tablespaces, added datafiles to existing Tablespaces, monitored

Tablespace size and resized Tablespaces.

. Performed general technical troubleshooting of errors in alert.log

(e.g. ORA-600, ORA-7445, etc). Opened SR's as necessary with Oracle

Support to address recurring issues or to obtain bug fixes.

. Attended DBA team meetings fostering strong cohesiveness regarding all

major databases issues, plus departmental direction, annual plans,

licensing, policy changes, etc.

. Experienced in scheduling jobs through Oracle Job Scheduler, Cron and

BMC control-M.

. Provided 24/7 on-Call support (rotation).
