Howard L. Dillard, MD: 8/12 -2/13; 5/14-current: Physician
Assistant - Performed myriad skills in Internal Medicine, including
care of high risk and elderly patients. Focus was on superior care
of patients, medication management, cardiology, pulmonology,
rheumatology, endocrinology with emphasis in diabetic care, and
adult and geriatric psychiatric care.
Innova Pain Center: 3/13- 5/14 Physician Assistant - Performed
duties in a high volume interventional pain management practice,
including assessment of new patients with conditions ranging from
chronic back pain to autoimmune and neurologic diseases, ongoing
medical management of chronic pain patients with multiple
comorbidities, and the diagnosis and treatment of conditions
amenable to interventional therapies. Patient load ranged from
twenty five to thirty six patients a day.
Clear Creek Clinic: 12/11 - 7/12 Physician Assistant -
Considerable autonomy in a very busy family medicine practice.
Focus on urgent care, with problems ranging from strep throat to
acute myeloid leukemia. Focus included psychiatry, adolescent
medicine, hormone replacement for men and women, diabetes, well
care, and ENT. Patient load ranged from twenty to twenty eight
patients a day.
Bayshore Family Practice: 9/11 - 12/11 Physician Assistant -
Management of chronic and acute conditions in a multi-discipline
family practice setting. Common conditions include allergic
rhinitis, women's health, anxiety and depression, hypertension, and
hyperlidiemia. Spectrum of health care from pediatrics to
geriatrics.
Austin Family Medicine Associates: 11/08-07/11 Physician Assistant
-Managing both acute and chronic patient care issues in a busy
family practice setting, with substantial autonomy. Foundation in
treating chronic medical conditions such as hypertension,
hyperlipidemia, and diabetes with medication, supplements, and
counseling. Interest and passion in psychiatry, including anxiety,

congestive heart failure, COPD, diabetes, hypertension,
wound management and treatment of MRSA in a prison
setting. Prenatal, postnatal, and regular gynecological care
also performed, including pap smears, wet mounts, STD
testing and the treatment of genital HPV.
. General Surgery: June 2007-July 2007: Dr. William Graham,
Portland, OR -First assist on cholecystectomies, ventral and
inguinal hernia repairs, wound irrigation and packing,
varicose veins repair and post surgical clinical follow
up. Also assisted with colonoscopies and EGD's.
. Internal Medicine: Sept-Oct 2007: Dr. Sonny Park,
Astoria, OR
-Responsible for complete history and physicals of both
clinical and hospital in patients, including rounding on hospital
inpatients before and after clinic and writing daily progress notes.
Patient conditions seen ranged from depression, hypertension,
diabetes and its advanced complications, benign prostatic
hypertrophy, senile dementia, hyperlipidemia, pneumonia, COPD,
chronic bronchitis, acute myocardial infarcts, acute cerebral
vascular incidents and the continued care of these patients in the
hospital, erectile dysfunction, hormone replacement therapy, and
other common medicine complaints.
. Emergency Medicine: October - November 2007:
Portland, OR Veteran's Administration Hospital. -Fast track
portion of the ER providing care to patients with acute low back
pain, orthopedic injuries, skin infections, pneumonia,
acute bronchitis, migraine headaches and skin lacerations.
. HIV/ Community Medicine: November-December 2007: Multnomah
County Health Department/HIV clinic. - Responsible for the care and
management of indigent patients with advanced AIDS and HIV. Managed
retroviral therapy, psychosocial issues such as drug abuse,
depression, and anxiety, along with the complications of advanced
AIDS infections such as PCJ, toxoplasmosis, and cytomegalovirus.
. Inpatient/Trauma Surgery: Legacy Emmanuel Hospital, Level I
Trauma Center, Portland, OR. January-February 2008: - Assisted with
level I trauma patients, including femoral blood gases, testing for
occult blood, visual examination for acute injuries, arterial lines,
assisting doctors with examination through CT and MRI imagining,
assisting in acute trauma surgeries such as gunshot wounds, stab
wounds, and head trauma. Also followed trauma patients on the
inpatient service, writing daily progress notes, assessing lab
values, radiological imaging, and devising a daily plan for each
patient.
. Family Practice: Clear Creek Clinic, Dr. Brian Aquino,
League City, TX. February 2008 - May 2008: - Managed several
patients solo with minimal supervision with conditions ranging from
hypertension, diabetes, depression, anxiety, migraines, pneumonia,
bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, COPD, substance abuse, chronic back
pain, influenza, staph infections, and routine gynelogical care,
such as pap smears and STD testing. Also treated teens and
pediatrics for routine sports physicals, well child exams, otitis
media, ADD, contraceptive counseling, and other routine care.
