Painting / Coating
Before job commence to verify qualification for painters and blasters
. Monitor / Conduct Site HSE Requirements for Coating & Insulation
Verify the condition of Blasting / painting equipment on site before
production
Checking of dew Point, RH% and substrate temperature for suitable of
blasting and Coating
. Fabricated piping spool pre check for weld spatter / sharp edge to be
smooth grind prior to blasting operation
. Check compressed air quality test for every day before commence
blasting / painting activities
. Monitor contractor as per Painting & Insulation QCP / ITP requirements
. Verify painting inspection instruments validity calibration
Routine Surveillance of after blast cleaned surface like Dust
assessment test,Replica tape test, Chloride test and Brestle patch
. After blast cleaned surface visually check surface cleanliness &
anchor pattern and substrate to be measure / record for profile,
WFT,DFT
Monitor paint / insulation material storage and handling of
consumables like paint / thinner, abrasives and insulating materials
pipe section/rock wool mattress / slap, cladding etc,
Surveillance of surface preparation, Paint Pre mix & paint mixing,
strip coat,WFT, and paint drying & curing as per paint manufacture
recommend
. Inspect Destructive / Non-Destructive Coatings, like Organic /
Inorganic, FBE,TSA, Galvanizing & Heat Shrink Sleeves ( Pipe Size 16"/
18" / 30")
. Advice painters during coating operation paint defects like Runs &
sagging timely corrections
. Monitor Coated spool storage and handling at yard / site
. Industrial facilities Selection of paint system for atmospheric,
immersion & hot duty service etc., and Insulations (Hot,Cold,
Acoustic)
Visual inspection of Painted Spools check Paint defects like sagging /
runs / poor paint coverage / dry spray / blister etc.,
Investigate paint failure and report
Final coating inspection of DFT, Adhesion (MEK rub Test, X cut, Cross
cut method & Dolly pull off gauge), Holiday Detection (Low voltage DC
wet sponge test & High voltage DC test)
. Estimation of paint / thinner / abrasive & insulation rock wool
mattress, pipe section, and cladding etc.
. Monitor / Control Site Consumption of Paint,Abrasive,Insulations &
Maintain Record
. Monitor planning work / schedules & weekly work progress update
. Review contractor procedures and method statements.
. Personnel training & certification for blaster & painter
. Review fabrication contractor quantity and quality of trade workforce,
supervision and equipment..
Insulations
. Before commence for hot / cold / acoustic insulations surface to be
thoroughly check as per drawing limit if any substrate paint damage /
free of oil / grease, wet / foreign materials etc,.
. During insulations shall be check type of insulation materials /
density / thickness of lagging & wire / band secure with
longitudinal / circumference etc,
. Surveillance / witness of cladding shall be check type of cladding /
thickness & any impact on cladding, band, overlap/uneven overlap /
screw / rivet, Nozzle flashing, Inspection plug, end cap, sealant
etc.,
. Cold insulation before PUF injection to be check cladding alignment &
spacer thickness, Barrier application etc,
. During PUF injection verify machine pressure / temperature
. After injection of PUF each cladding to be check PUF spread.
. All valves / flange box to be verify thickness of insulation /
cladding,etc
. Coating / Insulation / Fire Proofing related technical problems

RFI
