Nowadays, the erudit ion archit ect ure has become more and more popular. It not

only decrea ses the time of research and developm ent but also saves fabrica tion cost. Moreover, the

proposed reconfigura ble inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) archit ect ure can support various

video standards such as VC-1, MPEG-1/2/4 and H.264 AVC. It can sustain four transform types,

8 8, 8 4, 4 8, and 4 4 transform. The advanta ges of the proposed archit ect ure are that this

archit ect ure does not require multi plie rs and ROM. It only needs adders and shifters.
