Managing Partner, Director and Consultant for a sales and marketing
organization, providing the relationships, sales and growth strategies for
multiple manufacturers. I maintain full responsibility for closing and
maintaining profitable sell-through reaching goals set by the manufacturer
and or setting realistic goals. Twelve years in Japanese companies, lead
division for a regional distributor, managed multiple manufacturers and
brought new product to market. Some include:
Nexar Computers - Averaged 750-1000 computers and monitors per month to
resellers on a regional basis in the northeast during the "clone era ".
Addtron - A pioneer in consumer networks - Sold to computer retail and
super stores including, Comp USA, Circuit City, Best Buy, J&R, Fry's,
Microcenter, D&H Distribution, Ingram, Tech Data, Fulfillment distribution.
Provided $ $ 1.5 million in revenue per month at significant margins.
Evolution MP3 players - Asked to put an MP3 program together for Radio
Shack. We arranged for Evolution to buy the MTV logo, and co market with
Radio Shack to sell thousands of MP3 players nationwide. Program lasted
three years with $ 5 million in sales prior to Apple entering the market.
Virtuu - Unique mouse products for both desk and air. Sold thousands to go
with presentation hardware. During our tenure we averaged $ 3.5 million per
year.
Shark - Modem line to all major computer stores and integrators building
computers for corporate and consumer customers. Also arranged for shelf
space to all major resellers.
Deja View - Introduced the first wearable DVR for the consumer. Eventually
sold patents to the US military. It became obvious it was to early in its
evolution to the consumer market

Jess Associates evolved to be a Sales, Marketing and Consulting firm
assisting developers and engineers with start up and early stage companies.
We also work with companies that are faltering. Working with companies
having strong patents and product capable of crossing channels we are
currently coordinating programs and bringing new product to market. After
working with computer and consumer electronic companies we evolved to
automotive and hardware manufacturers working with green technology and
automotive personal safety.
EDM Imports- Sell and market cost effective Cellular, Audio and various
needed consumer electronics. Picked product that crosses multiple
categories for consumers who need what we sell but at a more cost effective
price point. Currently selling to multiple chains catering to a lower and
middle class consumer. Will provide $ 2-2.5 M in revenue since my joining.
Lap Belt Cinch - Asked to Direct and manage sales we became authorized by
NASCAR schools and instructors and are currently being tested by a major
automotive manufacturer and the military. While increasing safety at the
commercial level we currently are working with resellers for the 275
million passenger vehicles on the road currently .LBC is about to go
through a major growth with the introduction of venture capital to grow
worldwide patented product. Prior to the current situation $ 2.5 million in
product was sold through the internet and brick and mortar.
RDR Technology a commercial chemical company asked we put together a retail
program for their products. Patented product, the 6 products currently are
non toxic, child safe and on the market in major retail hardware and
commercial applications.
Partner - The FMS Group ( Manufacturers Representative Firm )
April 1992 - September 2002 - Based in N.Y. Metro area servicing the
northeast we sold and supported major retailers and national accounts.
Opened with a partner, we became successful with clone builders. Some of
the manufacturers we worked with are mentioned above. My partner and I
found it necessary to go our separate ways. I opened Jess Associates after
our split.
Sales Manager and Program Manager - Fujitsu America
September 1991 - August 1992 - based in New Jersey
Hired to manage and grow sales in an under - performing east coast. Also,
hired to design a retail initiative for current and future products.
Fujitsu decided to remain in OEM. They shelved the retail program and paid
off my contract allowing me to start and partner The FMS Group.
Vice President - Computer Division - Larsam Distribution
July 1989 - August 1991 - Edison, N.J.
Larsam, a white goods distributor and distributor of Star Micronics
printers, asked I design and implement a computer division. After putting
together a sales and marketing team, writing business and marketing plans
we acquired franchises for Panasonic computers, Star printers, Maxell and
Verbatim consumables, peripheral products and accessories. In two years
sales topped $10 million. We added additional manufacturers to become a
leading force in the north east.
Regional Manager - Star Micronics Inc.
July 1987 - July 1989 Edison, N.J.
Joined Star Micronics after being recruited from Toshiba America ISD.
Success was instant due to excellent product and a dedicated sales team to
consumer resellers and distributors. With strength in sales and marketing
the east coast led sales for the two years I was there. I personally sold
an average of 2,500 units per month.
District Manager - Toshiba America ISD
August 1984 - July 1987 - Parsippany, N.J.
Developed Eastern region in sales and consumer marketing for Toshiba 24 pin
printers and two new and innovative laptop computers being the first to be
introduced in the United States. Selling to resellers and distribution, our
largest market at the time was through the VAR channel to the fortune 1000
companies. Our team led sales in the US for two of three years with a major
B/O each of those years. Thousands of units were sold during its
introduction. I left in July of 1987.
