Due to my previous experience and demonstrated
ability in Human Resource Management I was
asked to return to BP Coal Australia, on a part-
time position 2-3 days per week. Due to the
changes occurring in the organisation. Duties
covered all areas of Human Resources. BP later
sold their Coal interests to Nova Coal.

1984-1987 transferred to BP Coal Department.
This was when BP first purchased a Coal Company
in Australia. Four people transferred to
assist in the transformation from Clutha
Developments to BP Coal. This required a great
deal skill as the Management Team had
reservations in transferring to our Head Office
and coming under the Policies and Procedures at
BP. Duties included Co-ordination of payroll,
interpretation of awards, policy and
procedures, attending Coal Tribunals,
administration of salary review, expatriates
contracts and conditions, transfer of BP staff,
retrenchments, appraisals, recruitment and
general administration in Human Resource areas
for all staff based in NSW.
During this period BP carried out a Job
Evaluation programme using the Hay method for
all of BP. I was one of two people
representing BP Coal.
1977-1984 Personnel Assistant/Personnel
Administration Officer, BP Oil Division.
Position included the administration of
payroll, appraisals, transfers, retirements,
recruitment/selection, training, salary review
for all staff based in NSW.
1984- Project member involved in the takeover
of Amoco. My role was to transfer all their
employees over to our HRIS prior to their
retrenchment and/or position offered by BP. I
was Involved also in process of offers and
retrenchment notifications, payout
confirmations, letters of offer etc.
