Summary Experiences in MATLAB programming of Parameter Estimation
Analysis with using Unscented Kalman Filter and theories in
Robotics with Dynamics. Working for the medical device industry
for more than 10 years and has been responsible for the
development and testing of minimally invasive surgery approach,
spinal fusion constructs, and dynamic system for human spine..
Academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering from Kyounghee University, Seoul, South Korea, a
Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering,
specializing in Robotics and Dynamics from University of Florida
in Gainesville, Florida.
The author of five peer-reviewed publications, eleven issued
U.S. patents and ten pending U.S. patents. Out of those patents,
seventeen patents are also applied internationally.

Experience Custom Spine, Inc.
October 2012 - Current Engineering Fellow
and Founding Partner, Parsippany, NJ
As an engineering fellow, Conduct and execute the development of
percutaneous surgical instruments using current SECURIS implant.
Observe and evaluate current implants and instruments and
enhance those to the higher quality level.
Extend the SECURIS system to be adopted to open surgeries. Those
new conceptual trials will position the SECURIS system to be
universal system (open, mini-open, and percutaneous system).
August 2007 - October 2012 Principal Research Engineer and
Founding Partner, Parsippany, NJ
As a principal research engineer, develop new concept of dynamic
screw systems, dynamic interbody, and Mini-Open Surgeries.

February 2004 - August 2007 Product Development
Engineer and Founding Partner Parsippany, NJ
An engineer to research and develop a new concept of a pedicle
screw system to be used in spinal fusion. Issuing drawings with
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Organizing and
conducting a design history file, fatigue analysis, risk
analysis (FMEA, DIVVL, I3). Build and Evaluate prototypes and
reports. Conforming documents to the FDA requirements.
Contacting and validating manufacturing facilities and
procedures. Attending spinal surgeries and cadaver studies.
Contacting doctors to evaluate systems.
