Senior Analyst International Trade Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

1. Defining International Trade Compliance

Worked with the ITC Manager to come up with structures for the

department for example Project Issue & Tracking Tool document and Team

meetings. In concert with the International Trade Compliance Manager

worked on the vision of the department, staffing requirements, on-

boarding process of new staff. Reviewed the overall process of the

department and identified touch points with different Departments to

setup collaboration meetings and training. In Collaboration with the

International Trade Compliance Manager Standard Operating Procedures,

Job Aids and Manuals were developed to improve day to day work of the

department.

2. Supporting the J M Smucker Company with federal regulation trade

compliance. Keeping abreast with US Customs laws and that of other

governmental agencies both Domestic and International

Dealt with tactical issues ranging from shipments from China, machine

parts stuck in customs, Customers requesting Free Trade Agreements

like NAFTA and KORUS.

In collaboration with the International Customer Service Team

reviewed all exported goods that could potentially benefit from Free

Trade Agreements.

Upon request, prepared Free Trade Documents, as well as other

documentation requested by the Customers.

3. International Trade Compliance - Improvement opportunities

Continuously worked with cross - Functional teams to come up with

the Trade Compliance Program and serve as a liaison between the Cross-

Functional Team and Trade Compliance.

4. Capital redeployment - Compliance in International Trade ( Capital

redeployment from Canada and Overseas to the USA)

Reviewed and analyzed the cost impact of customs duties to the Company

when a decision is made to move manufacturing outside of the USA or

bring back to the USA. Continuously Work with cross - functional Teams

to look for ways to reduce cost.

Actively participate in Project meetings to deal with issues as they

arise.

Helped Train the Research & Development group on small parcel cross

border shipments. Do provide support as a point person for all issues

and concerns with regards to cross border shipments.

5. Training Development

Helped design and develop Job Aids as a training delivery tool for the

entire Company. Currently more than 60 employees have received

training in cross border activities.

Due to the success in training the Purchasing and the Research and

development Teams more Job Aids are being created for other parts of

the Company like the Equipment & Service team.

6. Document retention and Destruction

As a best practice and in preparation of a CBP audit the Trade

Compliance Team does a monthly audit of shipping documents. This helps

the team understand where the gaps are in the system and pro-actively

work to close them.

Serve as a liaison and trainer for the Warehouse Team, Transportation

Team, and the Contract Manufacturing Team of the necessity in

providing paperwork work to Trade Compliance on time.

7. Product Data Management and Classification of raw materials and finished

goods.

In order to comply to US customs laws and as a best practice all

products from overseas are classified. The Customs Broker and all

internal Teams that deal with cross border activities are continuously

updated.

Senior Planner Transportation

Manage transportation planning activities of selected JMS operations. A

total of 13 sites which encompasses: plants, distribution centers, co-pack

operations, logistics providers, Mexican and Canadian operations.

Work closely with customer service to support order changes, special

requests, and customer freight requirements.

Provide timely feedback, recommendations and resolution of transportation

and operational issues.

Maintain and develop working relationships with carrier representatives to

support operational transportation needs.

Assist in providing recommendations for improving transportation costs and

efficiencies.

Maintain and update operational manuals (routing guides) and procedures

(NWT).

Assist in covering requests made during the absence of the Corporate

Transportation Planning Manager(s).

Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Transportation Manager.

Key Accomplishments:

. Enhanced the development of the SBA Report - A reporting tool used by

management to track on time delivery goal to customers by business

segment on a weekly basis.

. Worked on the successful integration of Europe's Best on to the J M

Smucker platform June 2008. Europe's Best procures fresh fruit around

the world and distribute them packaged and frozen to the Canadian and

US markets.

. Develop reports and tools that streamline the work flow.

. Currently working on the K Cup project - Cooperation between Green

Mountain Coffee Roasters and JM Smucker Company. Smucker will be

distributing Folgers Coffee in K Cups to Wall-Mart, Target etc.

. Develop operational reports in preparation of Transportation Network

upgrade

. Work with intermodal carriers and rail lines to identify new

opportunities

. Increase trailer weights and cube on Inter-company shipments

. Track and provide percentage of Smart Way carriers to management

. Monthly Sustainability Report by using the EPA Smart Way software

. Facilitate and monitor progress of carriers throughout the EDI testing

phase, increase EDI performance to 95% and Setup new carriers from the

bid on EDI

. On boarding of new carriers to the JMS Network and Implement carrier

setup with all JMS ship sites
