Volunteer & Non-Profit Work
Seattle Center for Wooden Boats 05/12 - Present
I was asked to rebuild old ship plans as vector drawings, to be turned into art for gift-shop merchandise at the Center. The first project was a drawing of, the racing yacht, ‘Pirate', that the CWB used on T-shirts printed by Polar Graphics. I am currently creating similar graphics for other vessels owned by the Center.
Northwest Schooner Society 09/12 - Present
I have recreated the original building plans for the Burrows Island Light Station in vector for use in creating gift-shop merchandise for the Schooner Society. I am also currently building a 3D model of the Light Station as it would have looked in 1906, to be combined with a game-engine and used for a "virtual tour" of the historic lighthouse.
Work History
FedEx Office, Consultant 4/11-7/14
As well as customer service and digital print-production, I was specifically responsible for custom design work in my center. Larger clientele usually had their own designers, but tiny start-ups and individuals who wanted a professional look would frequently have FedEx Office do minor design work such as composition, more advanced work such as rebuilding a logo as a scalable vector image, or even on occasion designing logos or promotional material from scratch.
Prep Sportswear, Seasonal Assistant 12/10
I was responsible for cleaning up garments and other textiles after they came off the embroidery machines, (including removing loose threads and anti-snag interfacing and then steam-pressing) and then preparing them for shipment, during the Christmas rush.
United Parcel Service, Seasonal Assistant 12/09
During the Christmas rush, I was teamed with a driver to assist in delivery, so as to offset the increased traffic.
Display & Costume Supply, Cashier 8/05 - 12/05
I was primarily a cashier, but was also asked to design and set up seasonal merchandise displays.
Artforte Gallery, Webmaster 12/01 - 10/06
I worked as a gallery assistant while I was redesigning Artforte’s webpage, and afterwards continued to keep the webpage updated with new artists and content as well as monthly art shows.
