highly engineered parts to the rail transit, locomotive, and mining markets.

The company was witnessing unsustainable and marginal growth as it lacked organizational focus and direction.

Initiated and directed “Deep Dive” strategic business development plans. Realigned assets (including personnel),

leaned-out operations, and geographically segmented the company into 3 market-focused businesses. Drove a

culture of business excellence and process improvements and guided the company through the “Great Recession”.

Accomplishments:

Increased Revenues by 36%, Income by 52%, Return On Sales 14% to 25%, Backlog by 122%, Return on

Invested Capital to 84%, and On-Time Delivery from 45% to 95%.

Tier-One Manufacturer of precision-machined components to the heavy truck and mining markets.

This 50 year-old manufacturer was in immediate jeopardy of losing 90% of its revenue while experiencing its

third straight year of losses. Accomplishments:

Turned-around company - operating profitably in year one. Increased revenues 100%, reduced operating costs

30%, improved inventory turns from 3 to 12, and set record-breaking sustainable profit trends.

Directed one of the FIRST cost-effective, unprecedented, implementations of an ISO-9002 quality system in

less than 6 months in Northeast Ohio that was acknowledged in Crain’s Cleveland Business & the News

Herald.

Improved on-time delivery to 100% from 60%.

Reduced quality costs from to .5% from 5% and supplier defects by 70%.

PROCESS AND QUALITY ENGINEERING MANAGER

In response to lost market share and poor margins, started-up the GearTec division and incorporated lean

operational processes.

Reduced annual raw material cost by $1.2M and reduced lead times from 5 weeks to 1 day.
