Project Manager
Responsibilities include managing projects from cradle to grave in
four states (TN, KY, WV & GA) for Charter Communications.
Activities included directing Subs; approving change orders, pay
requests and buyoff of punch lists; tracking documentation
associated with projects including RFI's, estimating/
negotiating/approving Change Order, Submittals; and reviewing
daily and weekly reports. Other activities included chairing
meetings, reviewing schedules, submittals and interfacing with
client on changes in scope and submittal selections.
Project Manager 1994 - 2001
Consultant, Athens TN - Responsibilities include all aspects
projects. This included developing Budgets and Schedules,
Financial Reports, Contract Documents, Scope and Requirement
Definitions, responses to request for proposals ($10K to $25M) and
development of Management Guidance documents. It has also required
participating in design reviews to ensure requirements are met,
chairing design reviews, awarding of contracts, approving change
orders. Directed meetings to buyoff projects and turnover to
operations. Consulting positions have included providing
PM/Mentoring services to a large mid-west insurance company,
verifying lifecycle estimate for metal recycling project ($147M),
setting budget, schedules and tracking performance; approving
change orders and purchase orders. Also started and ran a small
construction company working on school related projects.
Cost Engineer 1991 - 1994
Ebasco Services, Spring City, TN - Coordinated with disciplines in
reviewing /documenting performance of government contracts at a
TVA power plant. Determining activities with poor performance
indices and specifying corrective actions. Estimating and pricing
the cost of work from team leader inputs. Tracked budget vs.
authorized vs. actuals to provide reports to management. Developed, maintained and tracked staffing levels per project requirements.
Developed macro's with various software programs to enhance and
increase reporting capabilities.
Project Manager 1987 - 1991
McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co. Titusville, FL - Responsibilities
included being liaison between NASA, MDSSC, Engineers and the
contractor; develop budget for new projects; ensure that design
and construction were completed within schedule and budget.
Chaired requirement and design reviews; conducted constructablity
reviews; contractor evaluations; developed and reviewed contract
documents; negotiated change orders. Also chaired weekly meetings;
and reviews for punch list work off. Developed a Standard Practice
for Project and Construction Management; developed and maintained
project schedule and designed buildings using Intergraph CAD.
Engineer 1986 - 1987
Impell Corporation, Knoxville, TN - Performed analysis on Class 2&3
nuclear safety related power plant piping in accordance with ANSI
B31.1 and ASME Section III codes on TPIPE and it's Post
Processors. Other activities included reviewing and evaluating the
results for code compliance and documentation per Project and QA
requirements.
