Serves as a subject matter expert and provides expertise regarding Federal
employee retirement processes, practices and procedures.
Performs individual employee counseling and advisement on Federal
retirement options, eligibility and Federal health and life insurance, and
Federal Thrift Savings Plan.
Applies federal retirement, health and life insurance, TSP regulations and
procedures, creditable service regulations and benefits.
Provide employees definitive answers involving complex benefits questions

Process workers' compensation claim forms, assemble information, and
forward packages to DOL within required timeframes
Ensure claims are properly documented and claims coding is correct

system, Agency Query System (AQS) and ECOMP

Serves as Injury Compensation Specialist for my assigned geographic team
performs a variety of advisory and counseling services relating to Worker
Compensation Program, advising employees and managers regarding OWCP
options such as traumatic injuries occupational disease and compensation.
Also I serve as liaison between the Dept of Labor for employees and medical
physician's inquiries resolving complex medical and billing issues. I
prepare special reports, review and analyze OWCP chargeback listings and
notify OWCP of erroneous billing. I research and prepare articles,
newsletters and written communication on compensation for publication.
Work closely with supervisors, medical officials, OWCP rehabilitation
counselors and the handicap coordinator in the effort to return injured
employees to work as soon as possible. I am responsible for analyzing and
interpreting new or revised regulations, technical letters, policies and
procedures and other guidelines relating to OWCP programs to remain abreast
of changes.
I also serves as an alternate as a Human Resources Specialist (Employee
Benefit) responsible for proving technical advisory, counseling and
processing, Civil Service Retirement (CSRS), Federal Employees Retirement

Group Life Insurance Programs (FEGLI),

Serve as Lead Payroll Technician overseeing 14 payroll clerks in the
processing of payroll data into automated payroll system. Review
authorization documents and input appropriate data into and integrated
personnel and Fiscal automated system to update employee's master records
such as: changes for saving bonds, allotments, and health/life insurance,
federal, state or city taxes, union dues and recurring deductions. Adjust
leave balance due to incorrect coding of timecards, process tax levies and
salary beneficiaries of decease employees and adjust salary records to
reflect correct data. Review assigned time and attendance cards for
accuracy, computes and input pay adjustment resulting from omission of
premium pay from time and attendance report delay processing of personnel
actions, leave buy back and retroactive approval of continuation of pay
following traumatic injuries. Handle complex pay adjustment which may
involves transfer between pay systems, different in pay, leave and benefit
entitlements. Responds to written and verbal inquiries from employees,
supervisions with concern and accuracy on all aspects of pay and leave.
Prepare all required payroll reports and assure that submission is timely.
Assists in training of unit timekeepers and conduct semi-annual audits to
assure conformity to regulations.
