Description: Sets up and adjusts machines. Installs specified parts, such as gears, cams, ratchets, cutters, and
guides in machine. Sets control mechanisms that regulate functions, such as feed rate, spindle speed, and
air pressure. Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunction. Examines and measures sample
part, using measuring instruments, such as balance scale, ruler, or other various gages, to ensure part meets
specifications or to determine cause of defect. May maintain and repair machinery. May sharpen tools, using
grinder or polishing equipment. Trains and maintains that machine operators follow the job instructions and
maintain the quality of the parts on the line. Detects all reasons for line not running at full capacity and resolves
issue quickly. Diagnoses reason for machine malfunction and submit work orders to required skilled trades
group to resolve the issue.
Achievements:
1) Trained entire new line of machine operators to expected efficiency with speed, accuracy and overall quality.
2) Increased third shift production by 50% from an average 180 parts a shift to a consistent 300 parts per shift.
3) Decreased the average OEE percentage from a 94% to a 98.9%.
