Skills & Abilities
Management
First job out of college in 1977 Grader-in-Charge at shell egg processing plant, later, relief grader, and poultry
g rader. Familiar with food regulations for processing food for human consumption. I have professional
appearance and demeanor, having worked as assistant office manager for Preston Optometry for 9 years, and
working at Duke Eye Center with patients. I have distributed human corneas for transplant, both domestic and
abroad, and so am used to dealing with medical professionals, both doctors and technicians across all cultural
and social lines.
Yes, I have phone skills, and computer skills. I have the ability to learn your software system. I currently use
SAP in my work, and have been trained to use Lexis and Westlaw. I have six years data management experience
i n work with Vision Share and ten years data management/control with Dairy records Management systems.
I understand client needs, and have no plans to practice law without a license. Therefore, I expect to work well in
a team environment with proper supervision of the lawyer, and yet work independently, as I did from my home
office when I distributed corneas for transplant. Vision Share supplied 50% of the domestic transplants from
2006-2012, when I worked with them. Oh, yes, I taught English as a Second Language in Japan 1993-94. I
t aught Logistics at east Carolina University 2003-2004, and did international sales for Acroprint 2000-2002. My
sales produced 10% of the company revenue, so sales were about 2 million in time and attendance products. Time
management skills, of course, I have been a single parent for the last 25 years, while working full time. If that is
not time management, I do not know what is!
Worked for Vision Share 2006-2012 as distribution coordinator of human corneas for both domestic and
i nternational transplant. I worked in a team atmosphere, plus independently in my home office. At the end of
2012, I was making $18.00/hr. with Vision Share
I have unlimited use of Westlaw and Lexis databases as current paralegal online student. Due to data
management work at NC State, and Office management at Preston Optometry, and work with NC Dept. of
A griculture and Vision Share, I have the ability to use, learn and manage various databases.
