Developed profitable business from ground up. Full profit and loss responsibility. Responsible for managing all
aspects of business strategy, business development, new product development, team building, sales, marketing,
customer acquisition and care, financial management, operations, intellectual property, product valuation,
licensing, and negotiations.
Raised $2.5M in funding from the Federal and State governments through various R&D and technology
commercialization grants. Developed and led a team of top-notch engineers and scientists. Developed several
innovative and patented products and systems including: a 3D (shape sensing) camera prototype, an IP
surveillance camera for high-dynamic range imaging, an animated robotic hunting decoy, and Shadow
Illuminator™ Photoshop® plugin (www.intrigueplugins.com).
Developed a $3M Technology Innovation and Consulting business unit. Led a team of engineers to deliver new
and innovative solutions to drive customers’ business goals.
Active in the local entrepreneurial and business community. Member of Technology Commercialization Advisory
Board (TCAB) at the Technology Collaborative, Inc. (now Innovation Works, Inc.). Mentor and executive coach
(pro-bono) for early stage ventures associated with Thrill Mill, Pittsburgh.

Invited by the CTO to accelerate the value creation for a $12M VC-backed startup focusing on delivering the next
generation electronic shelf label systems to retail, supply chain, and inventory management applications. The
system is a network of tens of thousands of small ePaper displays replacing traditional paper labels, such as
price labels in a supermarket. Tagnetics system is currently deployed in 40 Whole Foods supermarkets in the
Western U.S.
Played a key role, at first as a technical solution provider (with Intrigue’s team), and then as a strategic advisor
and liaison between the internal technology development team and executive team.

Double Take Decoys, LLC
Co-founded a consumer electronics company focused on a single product – a predator hunting motion decoy.
Secured the development funding, strategically invented a particular technical solution for strong value
proposition, market positioning, and defensible IP position.
Engaged and negotiated with Primos Hunting, a major player in the hunting industry, and concluded a successful
acquisition. The product is now marketed by Primos as “Stray Cat Predator Decoy”

Intrigue Technologies, Inc.
Played a key leadership role within a $30M VC-backed startup specializing in advanced flat panel OLED display
production technologies.
As an advisor to the CEO, participated in strategic business decisions and served as a liaison between the
company and customers, suppliers, investors, and display industry community at key industry events.
Led own team (Intrigue) to provide technology solutions and innovations for imaging/display electronics, thin-
film transistor fabrication process, products demonstrations for end users, investors and tradeshows. Provided
considerable guidance to the client’s internal key decision makers.
Proposed and demonstrated a new product opportunity that attracted $6M in additional investment.
Formulated a business plan for an alternative product line to immediately leverage available capabilities of the
client’s technology, while bypassing capabilities still under development.

Identified research opportunities in the area of on-chip image sensing and processing and computer vision.
Raised approximately $6.75M in funding from the U.S. government and industry. Planned budgets and spending.
Led and mentored a research team of several graduate students and two visiting scientists. Planned projects,
lead the execution and delivered promised groundbreaking solutions to sponsors.
Consultant: 1) helped companies develop and implement best technical solutions in the area of computer vision,
industrial sensing, and robotics (MSA, Hatch, Kaiser); 2) helped government agencies identify the most pressing
research issues (DoD, DARPA, NSF); 3) served on the National Science Foundation grant proposal review
panelist; 4) Assisted CMU’s Technology Transfer Office with valuation and licensing of innovative university
technologies to industry.
Two patents and more than 20 journal and conference publications. Numerous invited presentations and panel
