Composite Integrated Material of AL layers with Kevlar Material in Bullet

Our project deals with the analysis of the failures in the present bullet
proof vest. We provide a solution to the biggest problem faced by soldiers,
which is unbearable pain caused due to the load acting as a point load, when
the bullet strikes the vest at high Mach speed. To avoid this we designed and
impregnated a shear thickening fluid (Colloidal Silica) above the Kevlar layer
present in the current bullet proof vest and analyzed it using experiment in
MD research Laboratory, New Delhi. The results show that after impregnation
the acting load is completely converted into UDL load and thereby it minimizes
the pain undergone by the soldiers.

Achievements
Won prizes in symposiums and conferences :
Presented a paper with topic "Composite Integrated material of AL layer with
Kevlar material in bullet proof vest and specification test results" and won 1st
prize in the National Level Technical Symposium 'sai produxio' conducted by Sri
Sai Ram Engg. College, Chennai.
Presented paper and won 3rd prize in International Technical symposium called
'Gravitas' in VIT UNIVERSITY.
Won 1st prize in National level Technical symposium 'MEXZION 2013' conducted by
Priyadarshini Engineering College, Vaniyambadi.
Presented a paper and project work with the topic "Composite Integrated material
of AL layer with Kevlar material in bullet proof vest and specification test
results" and won 3rd prize in National level conference 'RIME 2013'conducted
